And how much does the country pay the Queen, to cover all her costs, staff, travel and the rest? She already owns lots of investments and could look after herself very well if she was sent in to private life.

The royal "personal investment" that concerns me the most is the Duchy of Cornwall. It's effectively embezzled public property, and the fact that the embezzlement happened a long time ago shouldn't be an obstacle to returning it to public ownership.

If it were returned quickly and willingly, I would even be okay with not charging interest and penalties.

I don't know the history around the Duchy of Cornwall. But I reckon you're going to come badly unstuck with your reasoning because if the criminal appropriation happened far back then property returns are going to hurt all kinds of folks in ways they never thought of.
