The ToE and common ancestry of all life forms did not come from looking at the evidence

What you did was prove evolution not to be true. With a murder, we know that a human came from another human, that is why we prosecute, if someone kills an ape we don't prosecute that much, we don't give the death penalty or life in pison. That proves that animals are not like us, we are different.

so your logic is because we dont punish killing an animal as harshly as we do killing another human being evolution is wrong as we are obviously different to animals?:thud:

Oh dear. I feel so sorry for you. :( Thinking is such a pleasure.

Ok, uh, ???????

So, I'm still not sure, do you walk to work or take your lunch?

O.K., so MoF agrees with the ToE as I've presented it so far.

Alright, to finish off the intro to ToE, the last step is:

That process that I described of how we get new species, genii, families, etc. ToE, the Grand, or Unified ToE, says that is how we get all the different species of organisms on earth. Therefore, every living thing on earth is descended from a single common ancestor that lived several billion years ago.

That is an audacious, broad, mind-blowing claim, so if either RND or MoF will stick around and pay more attention to what I say than MoF did to MSizer's post on DNA, I will now begin to present the evidence.

I warn you, MoF, it requires actual thinking. Your brain would need to engage. Are you up for it? If so, I will begin.

Also, as I have said before, the total thread will probably run to several hundred pages, and I would not want to spend the time if you're not going to engage.

Oh, and I'd better come clean - the murder analogy isn't really mine, i'd read it before.

Of course the analogy assumes that nobody else was in the room or had the opportunity to kill the person, but we have God that could have did it, so that is an alternative possibility.

Makes sense to me, if we are just animals then why don't we get the same pumishment for killing other animals like we do our own animal selves?

This I don't agree with. My Bible says it differently.

No one has said that it's not an alternative possibility, but you would need a massive amount of evidence to conclude that thats what happened. The theory of evolution has a substantial amount of evidence. And from that we can make predictions and also have a better understanding of how biology works. Just giving up and saying "god did it" should be unsatisfying for anyone who actually cares.

I'm beginning to lose my patience. Is deliberately not understanding tiring you out?

WE ALL AGREE THAT GOD DID IT. THAT'S NOT IN DISPUTE. THE ONLY QUESTION IS HOW.

Please, I beg of you, don't make me repeat this. Turn off the noise in your head and make a good faith effort to understand what I'm saying. This is science we're doing now. We are not arguing about whether God created all creatures. We're all agreeing, for the purpose of this thread, that God did it, O.K.? Have you grasped that simple concept? What we're trying to do is use the evidence to find out HOW. Not WHO, HOW.

I wouldn't shout, except that I think this is the fifth time I've told you this. You wouldn't want people to think that only idiots are Christian, would you?

But you said you did, don't you remember. Do you want me to find the post?

If you mispoke, and want to go back and change your answer, maybe you should explain which part of what I explained about ToE you don't agree with, and why.

MoF, when you start contradicting yourself, it's a big hint that something you're saying is wrong.

because we are more than animals in our own eyes. old idea but it will never change, people don't want to be treated on the same level as the chicken on their dinner table.

I think you misunderstood. I agreed that lizards produce lizards indefinetly. I don't agree that any other type of animal ever evolved from lizards. Yes lizards evolve within the lizard family but they remain lizards.

Lizards aren't a family.

O.K., let's go back. You agree that new species arise by the process described by ToE, right?

You agree that as that same process continues, we will then get new genii, families, and so forth, also by the process described by ToE, right?

So what is it that you disagree with?
