The compromises in the USA seem fair to me. I see the compromises in other nations around Europe to be fair as well. I think taxation of the super wealthy needs to be adjusted so they don't reap more wealth as the the middle class and poor struggle for making ends meet. Plus we need better healthcare access for all citizens. The wealthy have WAY too many financial freedoms than is reasonable. Peace comes when there is opportunity, equality, fairness, and not too much demands on classes of citizens. The wealthy seem to be the pariah of the planet these days. Putin is estimated to be the wealthiest person on earth.

Personally speaking, I've never been more relieved to have a Democratic president in the White House. I voted for Biden, and he's the first Democratic candidate that I've ever voted for since I registered to vote in 1992. In fact, I was a lifelong conservative and a registered Republican for twenty-six years. I left the Republican Party shortly before the 2018 midterm elections, and I registered as a Democrat, but I didn't vote again until I voted for Biden in the 2020 election. President Biden is the first Democrat that I have ever voted for, but he won't be the last as long as Trump and his sycophantic political allies have control of the Republican Party. I'll vote Democratic in every upcoming election; local, state, and federal.

He would surely have pro-Russia people at the UN and at NATO, and that would be very destabilizing for Europe. Elections are serious business and we need to only elect competent leaders.

I watched the whole video.

I think it may be a bit overstated. I also think the guy has some issues with 'woke' culture. But ultimately what he says makes sense. Especially in light of Putin's speech. Unfortunately, I don't see this as being a wake-up call for the west. On the other hand, if Putin's as smart as people think, he will be very careful not to do anything that would act as a wake-up call to the west. (China as well.) His plan is only going to work for as long as we remain asleep at the wheel. We still have a massive and very powerful military, and we are a people who like to fight (being idiotically self-righteous and morally delusional). And that's not something he's gonna want to take on directly.

Yeah, I didn't agree with every word of it. A couple of points:

- I think he overdid "wokeness" a bit, although I do think "wokeness" is a useful example of the west losing touch with first order problems.
- I think his thought that the dumpster fire was right about anything to do with national affairs is laughable.

Honestly, I shudder to think what it would be like if Trump had won the election, or if he had succeeded in defrauding the American people by thwarting the presidential election results. Admittedly, I gained a little respect for Mike Pence when he didn't give into the unwarranted pressure from Trump and his supporters to overturn the election results. What do you think would have happened to Trump if he had refused to vacate the White House on Jan. 20? Would he have been arrested and escorted out of the White House?

I agree. It may be true that Trump's insanity caused some extra caution among other world leaders, but the idea that Trump was aware of any of this, or capable of circumventing it is laughable. Just look at the response of right wing media and you can see the total insanity and ineptitude of it.

I agree with you about Democrats, F1fan. Biden wasn't my first choice, but he's far better than Trump, in spite of his flaws. I voted for a third party candidate in the 2016 presidential election, and I spent four years regretting it. I wasn't going to make the same mistake in the 2020 presidential election. Frankly, I can't express how deeply relieved I felt when I heard that Biden had won the election. I watched his inauguration, and I felt immense pride in America again. I felt hopeful for the future of America again. It felt like a cool breath of fresh air after breathing nothing but toxic fumes for the last few years. I'm not pleased with everything he has said or done since he's been in office, but I'm relieved that he and Harris are in the White House and not Trump and Pence.

It is very hypocritical of Trump supporters (especially Christian conservatives) to complain about Biden's immoral behavior when they've spent all this time willfully overlooking Trump's immoral behavior. His loyal Christian supporters incessantly attempted to justify their support of him with excuses like "I voted for a president, not a pastor." As far as I'm concerned, none of his supporters (religious or not) have the moral ground to judge Biden for anything bad he has said or done. My story exactly, except I have previously voted Republican in every election since 1976. Republicans have gone off the rails with Trump.
