I always loved the subtle queering of this song as it's originally by Prince but Cyndi kept the original pronouns of the song, except she doesn't make it clear whether her partner is female or male. However, either way, there's bisexuality involved. If it's a man she's singing about, then he's sleeping around with other men, making her boyfriend bisexual (and Cyndi is letting him wear her clothes). If it's a woman she's singing about, then her gf is bi and Cyndi is in a lesbian relationship. Either way, it's great and was progressive for its time.
