Violet.
Evanescence is totally new to me.

All I can say is they are reaching deep into my present reality.
There is indeed an open door there.

This music is encouraging me to sing again.

The lyrics give me hope that I may myself find my own NEW lyric voice in music,
as poetic verbal expression is concerned.

I have not really sung since leaving the churches.
Nor have I written any lyrics.
I miss it terribly.
I just know something will open up there again...
something new...
something expressive of my New Life.............

Oh yes...
and Buttons....
thank you for the welcome... and the frubals.

Yer quite a cutie yourself!
(not to mention your avitar!)

The beloved cat of my childhood was named "Buttons".
I chose her name myself when I was rather young.
And years later, It always made me feel... well....
"textilely childlike".... and I loved my cat dearly.

She is a fond memory.

Actually, this completely improvised outpouring came out of me one night at work (yes there is a piano there), when I was feeling very deep in God's Spirit... and alive... and inspired....

It's just recorded through the air on a stereo voice dictator....
totally spontanious and improvised in the moment...
but it's the first meaningful vocal reach I have taken in a long long time.

I hope it reaches you/ touches you ...
in at least some little way.

Some Kind of Strange
Great song!

I like the Mavis Staples/John Scofield version, too. *listening to it now*

It's funny coz I never paid much attention to that song, but then I heard it played in the climax scene of a movie and now I love it.

Listening to it again.

I gotta an audition for another band coming up soon. I'm actually abit nervous over this one, as they are expected some impressive stuff, and they are on a small label, and they even have a myspace. Definitely a bigger crowd than I'm used to. And I've worked with the guitarist who is going to step in for drums, and the bassist who they are about to kick out for being an "emo monkey" as the front man described it.
