I avoid MTV like the plague.......unless Shakira's on there.NoahideHiker said:Shakira's not too bad if ya turn the sound all the way down when watching her videos. Of course, that's the only way I could watch MTV is on mute. Knockout
You were in violation of the fourth rule of musical arse kicking. Such disregard for musicology cannot be taken lightly. You were all lucky to escape a lengthy sentence in the dog house.Buttons* said:**** yeah!!!
Why arent WE in the heirarchy!!!!
8 times through now. The drumming is outstanding as usual... the bass playing well below an easily audible pitch (pretty usual since Lateralus) the guitaring is heading in a far too thrash metally direction, but hopefully he can redeem himself ( my 3rd fav guitarist ) I've never really liked the lyrics... apart from Third Eye and Lateralus. I like his voice usually, but not on tracks like Sober and Swamp Song... this song reminds of both of these combined in one and to top it all off...after 16 years in the same band he still hasn't learned when to shut up and let the other guys play!!! A great lead vocalist should ALWAYS know this. Robert Plant, Jon Anderson, Dylan, Cat Stevens, Eddie Vedder... I could go on forever.Buttercup said:Give us more of your thoughts on the new Tool song Chris. How many time have you listened to it?
After several listens through. I have decided I don't like the vocals at all.
??? where is said sound? The drummer's using a lot of electronic beat pads now *bleuuuuuughhh*.Buttercup said:Great review Chris. I have listened to it probably 6 times now including once on the radio today. I will play it at home again tonight and listen for some of the more hidden nuances. That's another great thing about Tool songs.....you hear more sounds the longer you listen. I REALLY like the bass in a couple of spots. My ear tends to hear rhythm over everything else anyway.
I'm hoping the vocals grow on me. I am not liking them at all.
What do you think of that alarm clock sound?
Hehehe excellent Sorry I missed this. They do rock.Revasser said:In the Woods - Omnio? -Pre
The Omnio album just arrived in the mail today. Thanks for the lead, Chris! It's awesome.

I think you're right about the electronic beat pads in a couple of spots. And I've figured out what it is exactly that I don't like about the vocals.....he sounds so raspy. At this point the lyrics mean nothing to me. First run throughs I don't even pay attention to the lyrics...I'm listening to the music. And I think his vocals are quite understated.
Gotta go take nap. I know, pathetic. But I stay up late!
ChrisP said:I'm considering investing in some audio software that'll let me strip the vocal tracks from the CD...
Bananas? I wouldn't waste your dinner like thatButtercup said:Wow! Is there such a thing? That would be awesome. I was thinking earlier (before I read that post above) that I might like Vicarious better if Maynard wasn't singing! Plus there's tons of rap stuff that I would like if they weren't singing all that crap! I would probably consider buying that software too.
Wolfmother............Woman
Went to buy tunes today but saw on the 'incoming' board so many bands that I want CD's of that I decided to save up for those instead. I did buy a Van Morrison's greatest hits the other day.
*chimp scampers out of room at mach one speed to avoid airbore bananas directed at head*.......Don't hate me.
