Theists who do not believe in an afterlife?

I also personally believe there is noi afterlife. I don't believe in miracles, the virgin birth or the "stories" in the Old Testament. Again, we can discuss this in more detail later.

.

In Scripture there is a BIG difference between ' after life ' and ' resurrection '
Afterlife implies being more alive after death than before death.
Whereas resurrection is a future bringing back to life out of death's deep sleep - John 11:12-14; Psalms 115:17; Psalms 146:4; Ecclesiastes 9:5
That is what the prophet Daniel looked forward to a future resurrection back to happy-and-healthy physical life on earth - Daniel 12:2; Daniel 12:13
That is why Acts of the Apostles 24:15 uses the ' future tense ' that there ' is going to be ' a resurrection......
That coming resurrection will take place during Jesus' millennium-long day of governing over Earth when 'enemy death' will be No more - 1 Corinthians 15:26; Isaiah 25:8

Physical objects suffer increase in entropy: they age and decay. Minds do not and therefore there is no reason to believe that they mind are mortal. Of course, you can be a materialist and disbelieve in minds, but materialism is very difficult to defend philosophically. But how can a theist be a materialist? It's not impossible (the ancient Stoics tried it for a while) but it raises a lot of difficult questions. I'd say a theist do denies an afterlife is just a bit naive philosophically.

Has anyone thought that maybe the afterlife (or lack of it) will be a perfect match to his/hers beliefs?

And if so, can he/she explain why this can be possible?
