Well, you all don’t seem to have victory over your lusts, a lot of hatred, anger and un forgiveness coming through the comments.
Lust is a desire, it need not be harmful of course, if no one ever gave in to lust there wouldn't be nearly 8 billion of us. I have not noticed atheists posts to contain any hatred or anger per se, nor have I noticed them to be indicative of being unforgiving, though I doubt atheists are obsessed with it though, in the way some theists are. Care to quote a few examples?
I see comments like so happy not to be a Christian yet the comments are full of anger and resentment.
I am dubious, you seem to be projecting.
Doesn’t sound like freedom to me.
That's hardly a surprise as you subjectively view freedom as synonymous with your own religious beliefs, what one person finds freeing another might find terrifying.
Then there’s the hopelessness of what happens after you die, I had all that misery for the first part of my life, no thanks.
Your funeral? I have decided not to have one, since I have no children, and wouldn't want my step grandchildren subjected to this, or my nephews and niece. I am not aware of any evidence anything else will happen, and I wan not alive for billions of years before i was born, it didn't seem hopeless at all, in fact it left no impression whatsoever. I think your emotional attachment to these ideas is a necessary component of your bias in favour of them, this is true of many theists I have encountered.
However, how comforting one finds a belief has little relevance to its validity. In fact the more comforting one finds it, the more indicative one might be biased in its favour.
