Those politicians want the draft because they crave for wars the citizens will not support

That is what Tulsi Gabbard said to Bill Maher.

I mean...the elitist, empious, Satanic gangs that support both the Left and Conservatives (both, I can promise you that) are thirsty for the blood of American soldiers, that is why the draft is something they would love.

Thoughts?

As for that beta male talking to her, I would tell him: dearest, if you love war so much, why don't you go to Ukraine to fight against Russians?

Much ado about nothing, instead of sending you a card you are supposed to return or face a penalty, they dropped the paperwork and just said, we already know who you are so we will just use that list and forget about the question of not returning the card and so being in violation of something. And while we are at it, we will register everybody instead of pretending that women are unsuited to national service for some reason.

Not to mention that both Bill Maher and Tulsi Gabbard have lost a few marbles over the years. I didn't even wait for the other guy as this was a nothing burger to begin with.

I guess you didn't understand Gabbard's point.
Why should American soldiers sacrifice their own lives for the sake of stupid wars funded by an elitist cabal of warmongers?
Nobody has ever answered that question yet.
And I wager you won't either. ;)

You know...in my country there has never been the dogma according to which one says: my party said it, so it must be right.
I mean...it's the other way around. If the voters of a party demand that we stop sending warfare ro Ukraine, that party will stop sending warfare to Ukraine in order not to lose voters.
That's why our country is socialist. Social control of a party.

The registration issue has nothing to do with a draft, there is no talk of a draft, this is just about bookkeeping and that the government already knows who its citizens are through other means. Any late night chatter about anything else is just chatter. As for your "elitist cabal" considering your Russia fantasies, nuff said.

I asked a question and you didn't answer, okay.
That's totally fine.

There is no draft or talk of a draft except by some fringe people like Gabbard and Maher just because this little modification was made to the defense appropriation bill. That and the above is the answer.

We are not speaking of draft only. (Okay...it's a little modification, whatever).
We are speaking of professional soldiers too who were sent to Iraq and Afghanistan to die, whereas those obese, impious billionaires remained home to fund these horrifying wars.

You didn't answer my question, that's fine.
But please, don't say you did answer it.

In face of the war in Ukraine, some of our politicians have thought about reintroducing the draft.
I'm for it with some major modifications. 1. It's a draft for any social service, military, police, firefighter, disaster relief, health and geriatric care, or any other service that is deemed to be of social value. The choice is free, you don't have to go through proving conscientious objection. 2. Parallel to the new draft, we introduce UBI.

Indeed... they want to send soldiers to fight in the steppe to please the warmongering élites overseas.

That would be a very good idea, but I don't think they would ever implement such a thing in my country because those aforementioned élites destroyed any socialist policy here. They used Italy as lab to experiment the destruction of the social state with devilish neo-liberistic policies.

I think they were just surprised that war is still a possibility in Europe, and with Putin's irrational behaviour, there is a chance that we'll have to defend our NATO allies. And the Bundeswehr is a joke at this time. Without a UN mandate, German troops aren't going to fight overseas.

They might be forced into something like that. There is a shortage of social workers of all kinds (it was hard for hospitals when we abandoned the draft in 2011, as that also meant that there were no more Zivildienstleistende), and at the same time AI is threatening to kill a whole lot of jobs.

By overseas I mean in the US.

The State is not a firm, where the profit maximization is the rule.
The State is a social system where people's right to work is protected and fulfilled.

But we already know that certain Dragons (and other medieval creatures from the banking world) dream of turning the European States into cynical firms.

The registration enables a draft; it's a step in the direction of a militarized economy and populace.
There is often "no talk of" a political move -- until one morning we wake up to find it instituted.

War is tremendously lucrative for the few tapped into the Military-Industrial-Congressional Complex. It's tremendously costly to the common people. Do we have a Democracy, where government is "of, by, and for" The People, or do we crave an autocracy, where The People are pawns of a military cabal? We've seen where that leads.

We used to say "What if they gave a war and nobody came?" Perhaps that would indicate that the motivation for war was not worth the cost -- to those called on to actually pay the price.

Ukraine is not in the NATO.
But Poland and Baltic countries are. And given that attacking Ukraine wasn't foreseen or rational, the possibility of Putin becoming even more crazy, has to be taken into consideration.

The state has to balance its budget, like any firm has to. And if there is no work, the state (at least the German) will not "create" jobs out of thin air.

"National service?!" I'd hardly characterize an affiliation with an institution dedicated to killing people and destroying things as national service. Our military adventurism usually creates the very hostility it purports to protect us from. It harms our country.

That's your opinion.
My opinion (and that of many Italians) is that some élites want to seize the Russian fuels and in order to do it, they are disposed to create a proxy war in Ukraine (after colonizing it with their billions, who bribe all dishonest corrupt politicians), so a local war and a world war is created and at the end of this war, these élites gain full control of Russian resources, so they can sell them to Germany and gain billions from it.
Squalid money-hunger, that's what caused this war.

Putin couldn't care less about Western Europe. He has enemies to fight: these devilish banking élites.

The state has to balance its budget, like any firm has to.
Deficit is allowed.
The deficit of the State = privates' credits.
It's always wealth.
But the lies that the Brussels élites have been telling for years can work with some people. I studied law and macroeconomics. So I find their dogmas incredibly laughable.
And these élites will be dethroned and replaced with democratic bodies directly elected by the peoples.
And if there is no work, the state (at least the German) will not "create" jobs out of thin air.

One question: have you ever studied the economic circuit?
WCR4c.gif

I mean... money is not supposed to remain in the banksters' pocket (they wish it did, those rascals), but it will circulate once issued, so even if the State spends money to create jobs, that will be used to buy goods and services from businesses who will get richer and increase the GDP.

A more comprehensive view of public service would be welcome. One where citizens are not stripped of their freedom of conscience and moral independence. Where believing Christians were not forced to condemn themselves to thousands of years of torturous punishment in Hell to support Raytheon's stock prices.
Still, forcing a citizen into any service is not compatible with a free society.

Didn't we establish an international institution after WWII, with the express purpose of preventing war -- and then immediately emasculate it?
The UN sounds good; it's a nice symbol, but the power élite never liked it. It threatened their power games -- and potential profits. They've done everything in their power to undermine it.

He has NATO to fight, as well as the unprotected path through which Russia and the USSR have historically been invaded.

In negotiations over German reunification, the US and Western allies gave Gorbachev a "cascade of assurances" that the UN would not expand "one inch Eastward" -- but these were never incorporated into any treaty. It was, at best, a handshake ageement.
Since then, NATO has expanded. Nuclear capable bases are expanding along Russia's southern border, and Putin feels threatened.

In 1962 The US nearly went to war with the USSR over a Soviet missile base set up in Cuba. Why do we now find Putin's panic over multiple bases expanding unwarranted?

Americans are usually acutely aware of foreign animosity, but acutely ignorant of its causes.

Putin doesn't fear the European Union.
Putin fears those states where there is no modern democratic system repudiating the war, where there is no anti-corruption system, where some American billionaires can settle down and wage a war against Russia.

Putin does not fear the Baltics, Finland or Poland, despite these neighbor the Russian Federation.
Because he knows that as soon as they plot something shady to provoke the Russian army, the European Union will kick them out of the union after five seconds. For violating our anti-war legislations, present in the countless treaties of the EU.

Ukraine is not in the EU, so it cannot be kicked out.

Again. Putin does not fear the European Union. Putin fears America.
America wants to attack Russia. Europeans don't.
Americans are usually acutely aware of foreign animosity, but acutely ignorant of its causes.
I call it "being victims of a deceitful propaganda".

Tulsi Gabbard is correct. Although I do disagree with Bill Maher on this, I do appreciate that he has people of such differing opinions from him on his show. Respectful dialogue on these issues is much needed in today's political climate.
