Tired of the "why did God allow ……." posts.

The other premise found in your posts that catches my eye, is that all religious belief is credence in superstition.

It's no accident that it caught your eye. I do correlate all 'revealed' religion with superstition. I invite you to read the works of Thomas Paine, especially, "The Age of Reason." It is amazing that he kept his head attached to his shoulders as he was writing such blasphemy when the church still had so much influence. The point is that having faith in what someone else saw, without confirmation sets us up to accept unnecessary taboos and rituals and the fears that are encapsulated by them.

However the Bible urges us to "Let [our] reasonableness become known to all men." (Philippians 2:5a).
And to use our "power of reason." (Romans 12:1)

Good for Paul on this one. Little did he know that the information age was coming, let alone the printing press: He may not have been so cavalier.

As the Age of Enlightenment was dawning, Martin Luther foresaw the inevitable, calling reason the enemy of faith.

@tkdrocks

I really do love your last 2 posts. It shows an honesty and a very good reason to let go of superstitions. You have found much freedom just by this step alone.
As you might expect I too am a proponent for shedding credence. It allows one to become determined to live a life they most likely will regret - even if it is correct belief, simply because the person believing has no solid foundation, no depth. It is a veneer over termite infested wood.

However, I also have come to take it a step further and prove to myself if what I have is a body of superstitions or reason out if there is a solid basis for the hope I have.
As Paul said, "if in this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are to be pitied more than anyone." - 1 Corinthians 15:19

Death no longer has a sting. For me it holds no mystery, and no threat beyond non-existence.
When my hope is reasoned out to be a sure thing, I do not fear the temporary sleep of death - though most days I would rather not experience it.

I postulate that you put credence in that there isn't a true faith to be found, and it bought you a great, but partial freedom.

You could take them training wheels off for a bit and let the wind blow through your hair. You might like it. :p

Here was a pastor who tried it, now he has joined us on "the dark side". If you do, let me know, once I get to 10 deconversions, I get my choice of a blender or a waffle iron and I got my eye on that Belgian goodness. ;)

yeah..well there are thousands of denominations and many of them think they got it right. Where you make sense that is fine. I am just pointing out that there may be a credence on your end too.

all it takes is one true faith to make enough of the pieces to come together in make a composite whole to disprove that all forms of worship are unholy at worst and creating regrets at best.

Perhaps some new evidence may arise, to give one of these faiths an advantage. Information from the Dead Sea Scrolls seems to be dripping out painfully slow, there have been accusations of holding back the distribution of information because the findings are uncomfortable.

If some surprising evidence did crop up (I have a pretty high standard, as you can probably guess), I am wide open to investigating further. But more likely, there won't be a singular answer, in fact, I have odds on zero answers. None are required.
