To The Anti Gay Religious

Homophobia is a fear of homosexuals and it can't be helped. I'm homophobic and I can honestly say it is not through choice...its the way I am and I would ask people to accept me the way I am.
I am not ashamed of my homophobia and demand the right to be homophobic.

I have arachnohomophobia. That is the fear of gay spiders.Lol...J/K
Why are you scared of homosexuals?

The fear I have is that they spread their perversions.

Straight people do the same. They too spread perversions.I do not know if you are religious but it says in the holy scriptures that sodomy is not condoned. Not only homosexuals do this but straight people as well.Did you now that oral sex is a form of sodomy?

sodomy:sexual intercourse involving anal or oral copulation.

So we can see that straight people are too blame for this as well as homosexuals.

Thats like asking we respect racism or sexism- not from me.

I must say that I agree to a certain extent. They do need to be stood up to but yet I think if you act in an angry way towards them, it might just make them be even more homophobic towards you.

That said, I used to deal with a lot of internalized homophobia. I'm no longer ashamed of being bisexual and somewhat masculine. My boyfriend helped me overcome that just by his example.

The thing is, it is still scary to some extent when people want to be hateful towards him or I because of the way we are. I just recently came out of the closet to a few people and I just don't know what to expect.

One thing you have to keep in the front of your mind is that they are the ones with the problem, not you. It is their view of reality that is skewed.

First of all homophobia is a very stupid word. You're not sacred or anything, you're just being an a$$hole.

Second of all I think LGBT people need to get on the offensive. Being careful so you won't make people more homophobic kinda sound like you're ashamed of your sexuality, which will feed these people more strength to bully you.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with any of it, and anyone who doesn't think so can go screw themselves.

Why do you think I have just started a podcast? Im sick of people debating homosexuality like its under review or something.

It is hate and fear of. All fears can be addressed but only if you want them to.
You demand the right to be phobic and hurtful towards others are a result of this phobia?

This is very true. Nevertheless, it still depresses me when people are so homophobic. I believe that I am the way I am because that is the way God created me. I cannot change my sexuality or even my gender identity. If people can't accept me for who I am then they don't deserve to have anything to do with me.

There are many people, who claim they are Christian, that go about the homosexual thing all wrong.A lot of them bash and should not.True Christians love everyone regardless of what their sexual preference is.Although true Christianity does not condone homosexual behavior, it does not mean that we are to hate them, and call them names,or treat them any different.Everyone has the freedom of choice.Free will.If one wants to go that route it is their choice.I personally do not condone homosexuality.I agree with the view in the holy scriptures regarding this matter.Thats is my choice.I have that right to believe this view.I believe man and woman are to be together and serve as a family unit if that is what they choose.Man was made for woman and woman for man. This is natural.A man and woman can naturally procreate. This is the only way to naturally produce another human life.It is biologically correct.Man and man cannot procreate and neither can woman and woman. It does not work.So religiously, and scientifically, I can clearly see that Man and Woman are the right pair.

No offense but your version of "true Christianity" is different from other people's versions of "true Christianity".

Aristotle did teleology much better than the modern evangelical or Catholic conservative, and he was without any knowledge of evolutionary principles. Although I must admit seeing you deploy the dreaded "science" to comically and unjustifiably support a religious prohibition, while knowing full well that the methodology of biology rejects your underlying presuppositions about nature, does remind me of one of the great sins of Sodom: Haughtiness.

Of course, since an organism can propagate its genes without engaging in procreative activity on its own, your case from "a distorted socially Darwinian science" is, shall we say, weak. But I wouldn't dwell on evolution too much; it runs up against even the most modestly literal reading of the Tanakh pretty quickly

We are homophobic because this is the way God created us. If people can't accept me for who I am then they don't deserve to have anything to do with me

Um, no. I am not particularly committed to the idea that sexual orientation is inborn; what is more important for countering anti-gay discourse is that there's overwhelmingly strong evidence that it emerges early and is extraordinarily difficult if not impossible to change, allowing for some sex/gender variation on that latter point.

What is very clear, however, is that homophobia is an entirely learned attitude that can be quickly unlearned.
