Gravity would still be involved.

Gravity is a weak force, kinetic energy would be far more involved. When said object hits the floor and kinetic energy dissipates (perhaps after a few bounces) then gravity will do its thing and keep it there

I just wanted to point out that gravity is still involved. It was the gravity of the topic that was my fall.

Why is it called the theory of evolution? Isn’t it fact?

In science, fact are the results of direct observation while theories are what we use to organize and explain the facts.

There is a fact of evolution: species change over time. There is also a theory of evolution: this deals with natural selection, genetics, etc, that explains why and how species change over time.

And yes, there is a fact of gravity: masses attract each other. But there is also a theory of gravity: the detailed mathematical description of the forces and how they produce motion.

In everyday use, the word "theory" often means an untested hunch, or a guess without supporting evidence.

But for scientists, a theory has nearly the opposite meaning. A theory is a well-substantiated explanation of an aspect of the natural world that can incorporate laws, hypotheses and facts. The theory of gravitation, for instance, explains why apples fall from trees and astronauts float in space. Similarly, the theory of evolution explains why so many plants and animals—some very similar and some very different—exist on Earth now and in the past, as revealed by the fossil record.-- What Is a Theory? I know all that I’m just wondering why it hasn’t moved into the world the facts

Primarily because facts are limited to fairly immediate observations. There is a fact that species change over time. The theory is how and why they do so.

The goal of science is to create theories that explain the facts. To be scientific those theories need to be tested: the limits of when they apply need to be investigated and delineated.

Gravity isn’t the reason ‘it’ hits the floor?

No, actually. Gravity is the reason things accelerate. So, for example, the reason the moon *doesn't* collide with the Earth is also described by the *theory* of gravity. The reason the Earth maintains an orbit around the sun is ALSO described by the *theory* of gravity.

The facts supporting the theory are NOT just that 'things hit the floor'. Much, much more is involved, including how fast they accelerate while falling, and how other aspects of motion are modified by the gravity.

The same force that makes things fall on Earth is the one that keeps the Moon in orbit.

Arent Natural selection and genetics facts as well?

You mean how they fall

I think the how and why is pretty apparent don’t you?
