Top 5 TV Series

Viker

Your beloved eccentric Auntie Cristal
Breaking Bad
Boardwalk Empire
The Sopranos
Sons of Anarchy
Peaky Blinders
(Love me some criminals)

The series premiere of the Walking Dead is my favorite series premiere and if they'd stayed in step with season one and had kept Darabont the Walking Dead would/should have been my fave. I still liked it even during its slower times, but ....

I try to avoid doom and gloom and murder and mayhem, or idiotic sit-coms. So my list is a bit different from most of these.

Better Things
Reservation Dogs
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Ted Lasso
Gilmore Girls
Wednesday
The Kominsky Method

Honestly, I just through down five that came to mind. There's many more. You got some good picks.

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Breaking Bad
House
The Crimson Petal and the White
Absolutely Fabulous
The Vicar of Dibley

I also really loved the following:

Game of Thrones
Downton Abbey
Mr. Bean
Black Adder
John Adams
Vikings
Ozark
Yellowstone
Luther
Bosch

Probably more, I don't know.

Some folks have mentioned Yellowstone. Any good? I'm looking for something to get me through the winter months.
I really like anything by Taylor Sheridan, including Yellowstone. But also the offshoots of it. Pretty sure I watched Yellowstone and Vikings during the cold months.

I also liked the IT Crowd a lot.

Absolute no-gos for me! ...

anything with zombies

anything that's trying to be funny

anything with super bad guys

anything trying to be "woke"

any kind of "(dysfunctional) reality TV"

anything involving humans with 'super-powers'

anything that is badly written, poorly acted, and/or pathetically unoriginal

A bit difficult for us oldies, and not just five, but from my UK perspective - and all I would watch if on again:

M.A.S.H (Watching this most nights now given the storylines and acting are so good)
Peaky Blinders
Fawlty Towers (Only two series unfortunately)
Blackadder
Porridge
The Line of Duty

Truthseeker

I really enjoyed Star Trek:The Next Generation and the 3 seasons of Star Trek: Picard was really good on Paramount+. I really liked Monk, who was well acted by Tony Shalhoub. He turned a mental disorder into an asset. I really liked that the murder of his beloved Trudy was solved at the end.

I watched Ghost Hunters, but the syfy version back before the one on the Travel Channel. If there is a disconnect between the name of the channel and what is actually on there, the Travel Channel is on top. Travel Channel is spook central. What's Ancient Aliens doing on the History channel?
