Trump backs out of 60 Minutes Interview

This summary contains a big fat lie. Trump did not say that CBS said the laptop came from Russia. What he said was that they dismissed it as being "unverified" and relying on debunked "analysis" that it was "Russian disinformation". That is different. That laptop has since been confirmed to be Hunter Biden's. CBS has been asked to apologize for not admitting that until much later and never apologizing.

Some people just don’t want to fact check because it doesn’t suit their position.

Thanks for the update.

This is what he said:

"Last time I did an interview with them, if you remember, they challenged on the computer. They said the laptop from Hell was from Russia. And I said it wasn't from Russia, it was from Hunter. And I never got an apology. So, I'm sort of waiting," Trump said. "I'd love to do ‘60 Minutes.’ I do everything. I mean, I do you right now, right? And you're tougher than ‘60 Minutes’ frankly. The laptop from Hell was from Hunter. It wasn't from me … Lesley Stahl, we got into a little bit of an argument on the camera, talking about that and other things. And you know, they really owed me an apology."

What is it you think CBS should apologise for? What do you mean by 'admitting'? What reason can you provide that at the time of the interview you think CBS had confirmed information that they chose not to disclose?

It was 2 years before the laptop fiasco was confirmed.

At the time, Trump insisted that then-candidate Joe Biden was "in the midst of a scandal," referring to reports about the email's contents showing his involvement in his son's overseas business dealings.

"He's not," Stahl replied.

"Of course he is, Lesley," Trump sternly doubled down.

"No, c'mon," Stahl continued to reject the president's claim, before lecturing him, "This is '60 Minutes' and we can't put on things that we can't verify."

Generally, Trump fans often claim the 'mainstream media' regularly publishes unverified information, however in several years of asking MAGAs to produce some evidence of this I haven't had any kind of convincing response. Perhaps you can to better? What I've found to be the case is that Trumpers will simply believe anything he says, without the slightest attempt to check the accuracy of any comments or assertions.

Is it difficult to understand the distinction between something that has not been verified, and something that has? CBS commissioned an independent forensic review to determine its authenticity. Do you feel there is some sort of problem with that? The original NY Post reporting clearly states the ownership of the laptop was unconfirmed, which didn't prevent them from cobbling together a series of assertions as if it had been.

One point that the Trump crowd conveniently forgets. If anything Hunter's laptop exonerated Joe Biden. It did not show any involvement by Joe Biden in Hunter's issues.

"word salad"? A short clip like that? Please note, the "word salad" was apparently edited. Why didn't he show the whole segment" They may have cut a bit for speed. That often happens in interviews. You support someone ten times worse. Even tRump knows that it is male bovine dietary end product. He has to call his nonsense "the weave".
The fact that they had to “doctor the response” to make it more coherent and “presidential" - dictates that, as the original statements shows, it was a word salad that left the hearer wondering, “Just what did she say?"

Let’s just hide the transcripts so that we don’t make it worse that what already is a disaster - and horrible journalism.

Dude, that is hardly "doctoring". Here is the problem, your source complained about quote mining by using a quote mine. There is almost always editing done of interviews like that. Shows want the meat of the argument. The problem is that right now is that Trump is far into his dementia that his speeches no longer make sense if you listen to the whole things or even if they are edited.
Are you unaware of what happened in Pennsylvania? He had an overheated auditorium where more than one person passed out due to the heat. He had not clue what to do and eventually just played music and swayed for about half an hour because he could not handle any more questions. Yesterday he canceled one friendly interview and totally failed at a live one. His dementia is so obvious that even the mainstream media has begun to question him.

Here is a link to his live unedited interview, it is quite often painful to watch:

Who cares. Indicted doesn't mean guilty.
Lots of people care. The trial should have occurred before the election, if you ask me. The American people deserve to know what Trump has done in full view before electing him to the highest land in the office. We already know MAGA doesn't care what he does, like at all. He can sexually assault people and they won't even bat an eye.

But you were acting as though he hasn't been indicted or convicted of anything when he most certainly has. Truth matters .

What does Hunter's laptop have to do with anything? You are aware that Trump's children all profited far more than Hunter ever did and Hunter was never involved with policy in any way at all. The "any port in a storm" people are the Republicans trying to look for some way to accuse Biden of doing what Trump was guilty of ten times over.
More double standards.

Trump knows that he is guilty. That is why he did the one thing that he is very good at. He kept delaying the lawsuits. That was his number one strategy whenever lawsuits were used against him in the past. He knew that his wealth could keep delaying the inevitable until the people that were suing him settle out of desperation. He has to win to keep out of prison for the rest of his life.

Here's that edited out word salad from a very nervous and frightened Harris by CBS. You can hear her voice wavering as she tries to answer.

If she can't handle the pressures of having a simple interview can you imagine her trying to deal with wars and hostile nations and anything else foreign related to National Security? Much less our own domestic issues.

God help this country if this woman gets elected.
She managed to play Trump like a fiddle during the debate.
She was the District Attorney of San Francisco.
I'm sure she can handle it just fine.

Meanwhile, you support the guy who falls in love with dictators and proudly boasts about it on national television.

No it's due to the fact that Trump knows how to handle dictators. Something that Harris won't ever be able to do on the world stage and nobody can equal what Trump did as far as getting dictators to fall in line without so much as a scandal or war breaking out aside the war of pathetic attempts for character assassination by the left.

LOL

Putin also plays him like a fiddle. Same with Kim Jong Un, whom he has bragged about falling in love with.

It's amazing to me that MAGA are now trying to tell all of us that cozying up with dictators is now a good thing because .... Trump.
I'm just trying to imagine what you'd be saying if Kamala had said she and Kim Jong Un have fallen in love.

I think she proved on that debate stage that she can do just that. All she had to do was mention crowd size and Trump lost it for the rest of the debate. It's too easy with Trump.

Character assassination by the left? The guy has already assassinated himself many times over. He's a convicted fraud. He stole money from his own charity to buy portraits of himself. He defrauded a bunch of students out of their money. He sexually assaults women. He foments insurrections. We on the left are just pointing out what a horrid human being he is, in light of his actions. Apparently, there is no low too low for MAGA. Trump was right, he could probably shoot someone and not lose any voters. Well, he's committed a ton of crimes, and they're still hanging on and buying his gold shoes and digital trading cards. Then you all turn around and accuse the people who are simply pointing out his terrible actions as "character assassination" while you guys sit there saying those grossest stuff about Kamala being a race chameleon and sleeping her way to the top and on and on, in Trumpian fashion. It's really something to see.

It's interesting that after his demented musical town hall, in which he swayed to (mostly classical) music for 39 minutes, Trump is cancelling several more events.

He's just cancelled a rally with the NRA, for example, which seems odd!
NBC News thought it had secured a sit-down interview with Trump on Monday, but that's cancelled by the Trump Team.
Earlier this week he cancelled a CNBC interview with Joe Kernen.

Anything up with his health? His brain?

He has a concept of a health plan, does that count?
