"Trump falsely accuses Obama of wiretapping his phone"

Do you not remember the outrage?
The fact is that had Obama qualified the statement with "if the insurance meets regulations" it would have been accurate. He should have done that, definitely. But he didn't. But the complete information was easily available to everybody.
This is completely different from Trump telling selfserving lies and then obstructing investigation into the truth. Far far different.
Tom
However he did not qualify what he said. But it was the President and wouldn't people make the assumption that he was telling all there was.
Sorry I find your excuse pitiful.

No.
But the fact that he hides it and obstructs it is solid evidence that it's really bad.
Tom
No, it's solid evidence that he's not cooperating.
But it suggests something might be bad.
You're still too certain based upon such flimsy evidence.

Why are you so outraged over something that has zero effect on you?

Being deceptive and dishonest in response to an accusation of wrongdoing is an effective way to convince a jury that one has engaged in the wrongdoing.
No argument here.
Even if it doesn't prove the crime, jurors will vote to convict just out of disdain.
(Been there, & seen that....as a juror, not a defendant.)

Something like that. Actually I've often thought it's so easy to get juries to convict because the average American can't use logic very well, can't make deductions.

Juries exist (IMO) to separate governmental power from judgement,
not because jurors make good decisions.
Remember that 97% of people are below average intelligence.

The fact that Trump is so conversant with the subject suggests to me that he factored that in to his decision. He knew what it implied, but what he is hiding is that important.
I don't think that he is an idiot. I think he is brilliant, in a narrow skill set that did well for him. As president, relying on that skill set will probably be disastrous for the country.

Why weren't so outraged when the Obama misspoke/told a falsehood. Oh that's right you are under the spell of the liberal/progressive.
Not my problem you drank the GOP's kook-aid for 8 years. And you still don't realize what's going on.

Yes, an ugly truth.
Remember that 97% of people are below average intelligence.
Frankly having a below-average IQ score shouldn't (and doesn't) mean the inability to use logic.

Sonny I have been around for 3/4 of a century and I know when someone is feeding one a line of bull-crap and it sure isn't the Conservatives.

Because it wasn't one.
It was a partial truth, but it was true AND all the information was easily accessible to media and everyone else. This is in stark contrast to a lie from Trump, then obstructing and doubling down and having his supporters and Capitol Hill hand wave it all away, "Everyone knows Trump lies. What's the big deal?".

Then get over it and try something constructive.

This is a thread about a lie from Trump. You brought up Obama.
I am trying to point out the enormous dangers presented by a dishonest and conniving president if he is in fact colluding with our most dangerous enemy.

I could really give a crap what you or anyone else thinks of my prerogatives.
Trump's lies are not lies just because someone believes they're lies. They're lies because they're contradicted by the facts.

Hopefully 3/4s of a century hasn't caused you to forget what a lie is.

You sure have it all figured out.
