He wasn't bullying her for being autistic. He was having a joke about her passion.

And joking about mental illness is funny how?

I have personal experience of how a single word can impact a mentally ill person, that's just me. You would think the president of the US would know better.

I've just said, he said nothing about her mental illness.

I don't think Greta needs "pitty" from people when Trump rambles about her. Does Trump's actions paint him as petty, idiotic, immature, classless, bully? Yes it does, but Thunberg doesn't "need protection". Trump's actions would be just as pathetic if they were directed at another old white man in suit. Trump insults her because he is a giant man-child born with a silver spoon in his mouth and with a severe case of the Dunning-Kruger syndrome. She isn't the first person do be subject to his stupidity and won't be the last.

Why is the president of the United States cyberbullying a 16-year-old girl? | Nancy Jo Sales
She is known to have Asperger's disorder, and one of the symptoms can be anger issues. I know, because I have Asperger's, and anger is one of my symptoms. Anyway, Trump made a comment like she should control her anger, and "just chill".and watch a movie with friends. I want to know your thoughts.
The reason why Trump can’t help himself is that he has a mental disorder much more serious and he is under incredible stress.

Trump's mental state is deteriorating 'dangerously' due to impeachment, psychiatrists urgently warn US Congress

Pretty much this.
She's a 16 y/o girl who took on the President. Where are her parents?

I'm not saying that they, or she, shouldn't have done what they all did. But complaining about push back implies that the parents are incompetent. Not Greta or Trump.

Why does Trump bully people of any kind? Because he is a bully. He's a high-school jock with low self-esteem who can only "win" over other people and other people's opinions by slamming them into the lockers and laugh at them. He's a narcissistic sociopath. Simple as that.

To me, the tweet was basically 'Greta, chill and do something you enjoy'.

Why does a president need to mock a child? It was not the parents making the tweet
I don't like it, and I don't think he should.

But her parents put her out there in the line of fire. They are responsible for her and her wellbeing. Not any politician, not even the President. The parents chose the current situation.

The bottom line is parental responsibility, when it comes to children.
At the risk of speculation, my guess is that the parents knew full well that their daughter was going to get this treatment. They picked it for her. They knew that doing this to their mentally ill child would get them something that they cared about more than Greta's wellbeing.
And now they've got it.

The parents are not responsible for trump and the girl didn't make the tweet.

I disagree. Her parents didn't put her there. She put herself there and on her own merit. She wasn't pushed to become an activist. Her parents have supported her in her decisions, but that's her decisions. She's 16, smart and engaged. Her parent's responsability is pretty much limited to guidance now and its not like the world agrees with Trump either on this issue. Trump is trying to mock and infantilise her, but he's the one who is being mocked and infantilised in the process. Greta isn't crying in a corner about mean, mean Trump and his just as idiotic and childish supporters. The POTUS is mocking her and she doesn't give a **** because she knows she's winning and that she's right.

But the parents are responsible for their underage, mentally ill, child. And her public political behavior.

They picked this. Not her or Trump.
Tom

Yes they are but if was trump who tweeted the inappropriate comment.

Yes they did.

She's a mentally ill dependent child. They picked this.

And I think that they knew what they were doing at the time.
The other option is that they are incompetent and have no reason to be in custody.

He can make all the tweets he wants.

It was her parents who aimed the President at their daughter. They could have stopped this, but they chose not to do so. They wanted this to happen, and it did.

Similarly, they could have sent her out to play in the street. Then complained that she got hit by a car, and so therefore the government isn't properly monitoring speed limits. But they still told her to go play in traffic.

Being very angry over the destruction of the environment shouldn't be boiled down to "mental issues". (Autism is more of a neurological disorder than a mental illness, really.) I'm a person with mental illness who is very angry about various things, but that doesn't make my anger any less justified.
