Trump is not an ***-kisser and that's why many don't like him.

I like the way that he returns fire when those who hate him insult him. It seems like the media in particular just can't stand it when he does that. They insult the President daily, they tell endless non-stop lies about him and about those who voted for him, apparently in hopes that if they insult him and his voters enough then those voters will vote the way that the haters want them to vote, just to keep from being insulted any more.

Then they shriek like babies that invisible lines of decency and decorum have been crossed whenever he insults them back. Well, if you can't take it, don't dish it out.

I think that a large portion of the American people love the way that he says things that they would love to say themselves. So once again, I suspect that President Trump is 'rope-a-doping' the opposition, just like he did to Hillary. Their over-the-top hate-filled attacks on everything he says and does just hardens his base and drives much of the white middle class who agree with him on many of the economic and cultural issues into his camp. The white middle class in the middle of the country sees what the coastal elites think of them and perceive that the attacks on Trump are really attacks on them, their cultural values and their economic interests.

Well you are dismissing the white-middle class as a bunch of thoughtless idiots then if you think they all support him. Don't bother asking any Brits what they think of him.

Your & his posts are deflecting from the the theme of the conversation
I was having with someone else.
The above addresses an effect. When you claim ...
It's also predictable that you'll jump into my conversation with
someone else to deflect from what I'm posting about & why.
... you are imputing an intention. You are making a claim, not about what he did, but about why he did it.

It's funny that you mention that....

U.S. Warships Enter Disputed Waters of South China Sea as Tensions With China Escalate

Australia seems to be in on it as well.
China sure does seem to be ambitious in taking waterway rights from its neighbors.
It raises a legitimate question....
Should it be allowed to keep & expand this territorial claim?

It seems like they're using the Coronavirus as a distraction to seize more of a foothold in the South China Sea.

It's good to see the US and Australia together saying, Nh Ohh... Keep that expansionism to yourself Mr Chairman.

Personally I think the Communists there have already taken more than enough as it is from the Chinese people. One would think an escalation would be ill-advised considering the circumstances.

That does include mocking physical appearance and handicaps. And it's not returning fire, it's just being an immature bully. It's disgusting that it happens and that it's defended.

They are both late to the show. Even Abe isn't the first Japanese PM to clash with China over these claims.

I think most people would realize it's posturing. We did it with USSR all the time and even modern day Russia and of course China is no exception.

China is calling for an end to the blame game and I kind of agree with that but they need to be more transparent and open if they want people to work with them and not play the posturing game.

I'd hate to think people would go to war over an indiscriminate virus when we should be doing our best collectively to combat it and not spend all our time finger-pointing.

The instigators need to share some of that blame as well as it always is going to take two to tango.

A call for decorum however would be refreshing. The ones who rants or insults usually is the one that comes across as the most off-key and unstable.

I think it bizarre people are just realizing we can't trust China. That they *shock* lie and *gasp* misrepresent things. When people have been going on about how China hid things, we'll, what did they expect? Water to not be wet? But the blame game and falsehoods and this covids origins are doing more harm than good, and Trump needs his mouth glued together and fingers all in those finger trap thingies. He has only ensured deepening divide and the politicizing of disaster as he accused the Dems of a hoax and now said this was made in a lab in Wuhan. And thats before we get to his disastrous health advice.

No. They're is no blame or instigation. The journalist called out a claim made by Trump, and Trump's response was to mock his physical disability.

You say it would he refreshing, but you just dismissed someone making fun of someones physical disability.

So what are the other explanations? Aside from Trumps perspective?

Is there a working theory what happened somewhere?

I think the thread title is too much of an understatement
to explain why he's hated more than the usual partisanship.
It's like using "benign" when "malignant" is appropriate.
While that might sound harsh, I'll temper it by saying that
he's not as bad as his most fervent critics say.

No, he is most likely far worse.
