*sigh*

I'm not going to issue platitudes of "violence doesn't solve problems" because that's simply not true.

But it is absolutely not the solution to this particular problem and only fool would think that it is. Fools who haven't studied history. Complete and utter idiotic fools who do not understand this will make the problem WORSE.

Many authoritarians become targets of assassins at the start of their time in office – after they have made enemies but before they have developed an infrastructure of secret police and adequate security protocols.

Surviving multiple early attempts on their lives can boost a political leader’s personality cult and claims of invincibility. It can also serve as a justification for any crackdowns or repressive policies.

He will probably switch to the (rumored) secret underground golf course beneath the Abraham Lincoln Memorial. Its a fitting location to keep presidents safe. Oops I shouldn't have let out this state secret.

Sure there are ponds at the local golf courses here and even a lake, mostly geese here but ducks too.

Immigrant geese on golf course.

They're destroying our golf courses what with the pooping and the digging up grubs.
They are a menace.
I think that those Geese have all been deported at least once, according to Trump that makes them eligible for the death penalty:

“We will impose tough new sentences on illegal alien criminals, including 10-year mandatory minimum sentences for anyone found guilty of human snuggling; a guaranteed life sentence for any one found guilty of child trafficking; and a death penalty for anyone guilty of child or woman sex trafficking,”

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Well it is a well known fact that gun control does not work in developed countries. Just ask Australia. What? Oh never mind. Bad example. Okay England. Look at all of the mass murderers using pocket knifes. What!?! No? Not there either.
Yeah it's so insignificant and miniscule they actually have to have knife control laws over there.

Well, I'm blaming the shooters. As for their politics, the first one was apparently a kid with an extreme right wing background, although much was made of some contribution he much made to a charity. We don't know about the second guy. You are probably hoping for an Antifa background. That would look good in the campaign ads.

I don't hope its anyone particular. It shouldn't have happened.

If they feel they need to take the life of another person, its some one who shouldn't have a gun and possibly disturbed emotionally or mentally.

A life sentence if found guilty but a death sentence without being found guilty of Child or woman sex trafficking?

Does any of this apply to US citizens who do most of this or are they given medals?

Incoherent vilification of others for political gain.

That makes twice now.(if this one is confirmed)

If it had been Biden or Harris being shot/shot at you all would be blaming and screaming damn crazy MAGA's and their guns.

Q... Who ya blaming for Trump's two?

A hundred years ago, Trump would have been hung by the neck until dead because of his sedition. But in today's world, let's just forget such trivialities and let the man have another run for President. Isn't America swell.

That likely what the British would have said and done about Washington.

Okay a bit more information. It appears that the Secret Service was in top form today. According to the following story it sounds as if the only shots were fired by the Secret Service. There were some against a hole or so ahead of Trump patrolling the areas he was heading towards. Agents spotted a rifle barrel with a scope sticking out of a fence. There was no "Halt or we will fire". They just opened fire on the suspect who ran away to his vehicle. A bystander witnessed it and photographed the license plate and gave a description to the FBI. He was caught in the next county. And is now in custody.

"The person in custody in connection with the apparent attempted assassination is Ryan Wesley Routh, according to three law enforcement sources."

These people are just a different brand of MAGA! They see their hatred as the “right kind” of hatred for others. Similar conspiracy theories.

Looks like somebody may have been trying to shoot Donald Trump again. But missed. (Makes me wonder the miss was deliberate, looking to move Trump towards some sort of martyrhood to give him a boost in the election.)

That is only one of the possibilities that I ponder. It seems more likely that its someone disappointed about him or who feels very strongly that he is a dangerous person. That is a common sentiment. I feel he is.

Looks like Routh might be a disillusioned Trump supporter. He voted for Trump in 2016.

Btw, you left off...from your link...

"According to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records, Routh began donating exclusively to Democrats via ActBlue in Sept. of 2019."

With apologies to @anna. and @Brickjectivity who I didn't quote, it does appear there's more information we should hear before we start making pronouncements. I started the thread, but I think this is a good time for a pause, just to learn more.

Rushing to judgement isn't good on either side.

I don't understand. What pronouncement did I make?
