Of course, they really want to win. But it appears that
they're losing their grip on reality by living in an echo
chamber of increasingly hostile & bigoted speech.
It's the new normal...to viciously insult & lie about others.
Not so much about campaigning to win...it's become about
reveling in hatred, fear, anger, & power seeking.

They offend many groups...including those on the fence
who might otherwise vote for Trump.
