Trump Reportedly Threatens to Invade Mexico

Two sources -- one American, one Mexican -- are reporting that Trump threatened to invade Mexico during a phone call with Enrique Pena Nieto, the Mexican president.

from the LA Times article said:
“You have a bunch of bad hombres down there,” Trump told Pena Nieto, according to the excerpt seen by the Associated Press. “You aren't doing enough to stop them. I think your military is scared. Our military isn't, so I just might send them down to take care of it.”

Mexico denies any such thing was said, while the White House as of now seems to be silent on the matter, neither denying nor confirming it. I expect a denial will come soon, though. It would be scandalous for the White House to admit that Trump said those things.

I myself don't believe Trump has plans to invade Mexico, but that the reports, if true, are further evidence of his irresponsible and troublesome tendency to engage in reckless, impulsive speech (or twitters, as the case may be).

What do you make of it?

It's like a reality show, Kanye should be vice president, Jersey shore should be congress and Hulk Hogan should become the new Putin

I am inclined to doubt Trump even realizes how dangerous his threats can be if taken seriously.

His speech patterns are just not suited to positions of power, if his campaigning is any indication.

If Mexico is denying it, and the WH has no mention of it, I'd dismiss it as hearsay and move on.

Of course everyone is going to deny it. Have you any idea of what a serious matter this would become in both the US and Mexico if the governments confirmed it? Or do you think our governments are above lying to us in order to put out a potential wildfire?

If you can read this, you are as lucky as I am.
If I were a devious monster trying to discredit all media except my own propaganda arm. . . I might purposefully leak a bunch of crazy stuff that I've said and done, some of which I can prove to be demonstrably false later.

Then, when both sides deny the leak's claims, I strike!

"The dishonest media out to get me, making up false allegations that aren't true."

"See, here's the tape. I NEVER said that! You can TRUST me, not those that are trying to discredit me."

Bwah ha ha . . . Then I reward myself with chicken strips, like a boss.

Can't imagine he actually said it, I had filed it away as trumped up Trump news again. But would it have surprised me if he did? Unfortunately, not.

Has Trump denied it?
Maybe he is still on hold, listening to the Russian version of soothing music.

I'm just waiting for Johnny Knoxville to come out and say "I'm Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Presidential Jack*ss!!" and then him and Trump kick each other in the nuts. That's the only way I can rationalize this guy anymore.

I am curious what you think would happen if BOTH governments confirmed it was said verbatim?

I feel more special now. He merely argued with our PM.
What's special about that?
He had a Twitter war with a bimbo from some beauty pageant. Your PM hasn't had a Twitter war with Trump.
Maybe someday s/he'll be important enough for one, but maybe not.
