Trump representing Christianity in the US...

Jesus said practice what you preach. Obama was not a homosexual so why was Obama preaching that it is as right as rain, suitable for children in their schools even?
This is ridiculous. I'm not a homosexual, but I accept that it is normal for a sizable percentage of humans to be oriented this way by nature, not by choice.

So again, I ask, you seem rather fixated on this one supposed "sin" above all others. Why is it that this one stands out so threateningly to you, while Donald's ego being bruised causes him to risk starting a thermonuclear war which would result in the deaths of untold millions?

It seems to me the thought of gay sex frightens you, more than nuclear war. Why is that? Have you ever looked at that in yourself and it scared you so much you have to project that on others as the "greatest evil of all"? The more you attack it in others, the less you acknowledge it in yourself?

I don't believe it's Trumps ego that is the motivating factor. I'm sure Trump sees North Korea as a threat, as do I. If North Korea could annihilate us without being annihilated themselves don't you think they would do it, or have us bow to Kim Jung Un as our supreme leader. Trump couldn't nuke them fast enough to suit me.

It's telling how you chose to focus on that, and avoid my question to you for a third time now:

All of this you are doing is not Christian.

It's nasty. When the LORD says it's an abomination I agree. If that **** was all over TV I would puke. And sometimes I turn on the TV.

When I was a Christian, one thing I heard often was that you need to watch what you say or do, because whether you know it or not, you represent your faith. Your actions can cause Christians to stumble, or worse, cause those who don't know god to turn away from him and become embittered against him. Alternatively, if you act in accordance with god, it will draw people to want to visit your church, and maybe even become saved.

Trump has been at the forefront, and he has been leading the charge for Christian political ambitions in the US. A lot of people have come to associate him as a sort of leader for the Christian movement in this country; especially for evangelical Christianity. With Christians I know, he is either regarded as a source of great pride, or as a source of great embarrassment.

So, as for the fine folks of religious forums:

How do you feel with the way trump represents Christianity in the US?

Does he embody the Christian walk? If so, in what ways?

Do you think his actions will cause people to turn to god, or will his actions turn people away?

Thanks! :D

Trump tends to be less abrasive to Christian views in some ways than many Democrats.... is he a Christian? ... I don't see allot of evidence Often the true person is not the glossy image shown to the public so its hard to say

Obama or Hillary? I have serious doubts either were believers given how they treated Christian liberties and rights so minimally and how little concern Obama especially had for persecuted Christians during his terms

But who knows... God can save any of them if he changes their hearts

And so is shellfish. Don't turn on your TV again; sell it and give to the poor, and build your riches in Heaven.

Did you sell yours and give it to the poor before advising me to do so? The hypocrites lay burdens on others that they would not bear themselves.

Do you always run off at the mouth, showing your ignorance
I don't equate trying to make the world a better place, with verifiable results instead of just pats on my own back, to be ignorant. Please show me statistics from any point in history where civilization flourished thanks to your worldview. I'll wait.

You must hate the country, voting democrate is everything that's wrong with this country.
I'm angry at the party itself at the moment. They should've been able to wrap everyone around their little finger given just how awful the Republican side was, even outside of Trump. Instead, we botched it. I have learned valuable lessons about this.

What does Trump eating shrimp, have to do with anything.
It's an abomination unto the Lord.

Who has Trump cheated?
Everyone who has ever tried to do business with him, from the sound of it.

Trump is a pretty good guy. Married to one wife.
At the moment. One wrinkle and she'll be dumped with all the ex-Mrs. Trumps.

Therefore show one book, Chapter and Verse's in the new testament, where eating shrimp is a abomination. As you say.
As soon as you quote Jesus saying gays are to be hated and without civil rights. We'll wait.

Obama was not a homosexual so why was Obama preaching that it is as right as rain, suitable for children in their schools even?
Jesus wasn't a lot of things he preached about.

Japan's nuclear disasters are making trouble for us in the US. Everything is connected. You can't nuke others without hurting yourselves. Rational, mature people understand this.

It's nasty. When the LORD says it's an abomination I agree. If that **** was all over TV I would puke. And sometimes I turn on the TV.
What of the other abominations you commit? You avoid all the dietary and fashion ones too?

Without asking about the Democrats,
What is it about the Trumps that you personally think represents your Christian beliefs and morality? I don't understand that, so I'm asking you to explain it to me.
Tom
I have asked this of a couple of others. I didn't find the responses very informative. I wasn't talking about specifics, so much as more fundamental values. So I'm asking you the same thing.

Obama or Hillary? I have serious doubts either were believers given how they treated Christian liberties and rights so minimally and how little concern Obama especially had for persecuted Christians during his terms
I recognize that the USA has moved a long ways from traditional Christian culture and values. But I don't see Obama having much to do with it.

Quite the opposite, I see values like greed, promiscuity, cult of celebrity, power grabbing, doing a lot of damage. And I see Trump being the very epitome and embodiment of all that. He has devoted his long and storied life to the pursuit of wealth and power, fame and pleasure (especially sexual pleasures). I see people like him to be the problem with the moral climate of the USA, not remotely like a solution.

Trump tends to be less abrasive to Christian views in some ways than many Democrats.... is he a Christian?
I doubt it, quite sincerely. I think his campaign was floundering without the conservative Christian base, that has historically supported the GOP. So Trump flat out lied to get their support. I see no reason to think he's different from the game show host on his third trophy wife that he used to be.

His proclaimed religious affiliation is of no concern to me and should not be of concern to anyone who values freedom. Separation of church and state are crucial to maintain.

I do consider the following attributes to be Christ-like: honesty, compassion, respect and egalitarian. I expect politicians to encompass these values because I believe them to be necessary to effectively lead and uphold constitutional freedoms, not because, I expect them to be of a particular religious persuasion.

Trump has not demonstrated any of these values.

To answer your specific questions:

1. I don't consider Trump to be a representation of Christianity. No one person can represent the Christian spectrum.
2. I can't comment on Trump's personal religious/spiritual walk. I can only opine that I have yet to see him demonstrate the values that I expect a President to demonstrate.
3. I have no idea as to what type of impact Trump will/won't have on people's personal religious/spiritual choices. I consider it dangerous for any American to discount the importance of separation of church and state.

In short, I believe that he's an egotistical, sexist, selfish and inept leader.

Well for your world view, it hasn't work.

You have no common sense, to even understand why Jesus did alot of things he did.
You just show your lack of knowledge.
You know, it must hurt to be you.

No matter how hard you try to discredit Trump and conservatives.

Liberal democrates are just to gullible. Just to show just how gullible Liberal democrates really are. Back in 1975, Liberals went out paying 20 to 30 dollars for some Stupid rock to call it their pet rock. But yet Liberals fell for it. Now talk about being strange.
Liberals are no different than they are to day, will still buy into anything.

Fatalist. Christian. Pacifist.

I am poor. My burden is a bit easier to carry.

I can help you with that TV, if you like.

How do you feel with the way trump represents Christianity in the US? He doesn't. Can you imagine Christ using twitter?

Does he embody the Christian walk? If so, in what ways? No. He represents his own thing, whatever that is. Claiming to be a Christian is not against the law and anyone can say "I'm a christian" if they want to. Doesn't make it true.

Do you think his actions will cause people to turn to god, or will his actions turn people away? Maybe people will turn to God in desperation. You never know...

Thanks! :D

Saying Trump is a Christian is like saying West Borough Babtist is Christian. They’re not.

You can say your one thing, but it’s not what you are. Happens to liberals and conservatives

If I think about my parents having sex, that's pretty nasty too. :) In fact, if you're not in love with someone, the idea of any couple you know copulating in their beds together isn't too terribly appealing. However, if you are in love, then to you, in sharing that with someone special to you, it's not nasty. It's natural.

So let me ask you this. Have you fantasized what it would be like for you to engage in same gender sex and found it frightening in its "sinfulness"? What I mean by that is that you see it as a "forbidden fruit" you must avoid at all costs, like Eve failing to say no to God saying don't eat that fruit? You know that mistake, and you must avoid that temptation at all cost? You know that if you did that, others would shun you, reject you, call you names, and even God would turn his back on you?

So with all that, you of course have conditioned yourself to "hate" something you know you need to put far, far away from you because the price to you will be your salvation, right?

Well for your world view, it hasn't work.
Yours has been around and been practiced more often. I see you weren't able to find me a country from any point in history that flourished thanks to your worldview. Israel thought it was the bees' knees and it kept getting shafted every other week. Clearly, that worldview doesn't ensure national survival.

You have no common sense, to even understand why Jesus did alot of things he did.
I no longer concede what others tell me about Jesus. I just read it for myself. Don't blame me the bible is poorly written.

Back in 1975, Liberals went out paying 20 to 30 dollars for some Stupid rock to call it their pet rock.
Conservatives wear flag clothing which is against flag code. Conservatives now threaten others with, LOL, tiki torches. At least villains should break it down old school, with ACTUAL torches and pitchforks and the like. What's next: LED "burning" crosses?

I follow God's FB page. He is truly a wonder to behold. More people should follow His FB page. :)

Ouch. I agree with Sin about something.

;)

Have you fantasized what it would be like for you to engage in same gender sex and found it frightening in its "sinfulness"?
I haven't. I have lots of fantasies. I am just not interested in sex, period. I don't hate on people who actually want it (with consenting adult humans).

Trumps is more of a Christian then the whole DNC put together.
A fascinating statement. "More of a Christian?" How did Christ tell you to treat your enemies? Is firing people, calling them idiots and losers, just exactly like "turning the other cheek?" Do you see Trump "doing good to those who despitefully" use him? Never, not once, not in a billion years.

So what, exactly, is it that you think makes him so much more Christian (which ought to mean "Christ-like") than everybody else?
