Those of us who care about our economic future do care about a businessman's ethics and understanding of accepted legal practices.
Even for those reasons alone, Trump has a long history of actions that tell us we do not want him in a position of power.

And you saw all those photos of classified government documents, some marked Top Secret, stashed in his bathroom, office, and other places in Mar-a-Lago. He has not been convicted of the crime of mishandling classified materials yet, but that is still pending. Are you waiting for a jury to tell you it was illegal before you decide not to put this kind of person back in office? He doesn't need to be convicted for you to see the evidence pointing to a conviction, if it is ever allowed to get to a trial. One of Trump's main reasons for seeking reelection is to make sure that his more serious charges don't get to trial.

His mental decline has been increasing rather rapidly of late. Did you see his town hall meeting where he just swayed to music for 39 minutes? That should have been headline news across the country. His keepers seem to know that he has dementia, that is shown by the sort of questions that they ask of him.

But it did make headlines across the country. The point is that most of his supporters have already made up their minds to vote for him. The music festival made sense, if most of those attending his rally were just there as a show of support. They didn't need him to answer questions that they already knew his answers to. His swaying to music wasn't a sign of dementia, just exhaustion. He is old and tired and bored. Like everyone else in the country, he just wants the election campaign to end. It has been going on for months and months now. And he is not losing any significant number of supporters. He did not even have to shoot anyone on 5th Avenue to prove that.
