Trump signs order to keep families together, how will the left spin this?

I know I'd spin it as an example of what happens when your policies have to pander by nature to the most disgustingly racist elements of your society. The fact he was forced to backtrack should be taken as a victory for all decent people, not just those on the left.

The way you guys talk, makes me feel if you could legally deport or murder all the left, you would do it without a second thought.

Trump Orders Migrant Families Be Detained Together

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump directed his administration on Wednesday to try to detain asylum-seeking families together, a reversal after weeks in which he insisted he had no choice but to separate children and adults who cross the border
Your thread has a different theme from the other one.
It's interesting.
There's policy.....
I look at a bad policy, which is now revoked.
Ideally, a better one will emerge.

But there are another couple ways to see it....
1) Trump supporters will say it reflects well upon him.
2) Anti-Trumpers will say he's still dirt.

Why make it more about feelings for the man,
& less about the policy? Seems so odd.

Hell no, what an absurd thing to say. Yeah I'm disgusted by things like the left wanting children in jails but if I though garbage about you I wouldn't even care to adress the issue. What's now become "the left" need to wake up and see what they're doing. I think that because I recognize we're in this together.

not absurd, the "right" hates the "left" so much that I am convinced that it is a fantasy you play in your heads on a regular basis.

does all the left want kids in internment camps? as a two party system for a 350 million pop country under represents the population by default.

The problem I see is that the right and the left see no grey scale (purple actually) If you don't agree with me you are either a republican fascist or a snowflacke democrat libtard. That's it, there is no middle ground, and with no middle ground there is no compromise, yet I see zero people trying to bridge the gap and compromising with either side. It's all you have to see it our way or ef you you can leave the country.

The rift seems to only go in one direction, away from each other.

I agree with you about the ideological tribalism, but some of us who care about actual issues are happy when compromise is achieved. The problem is there's a lot more people, on both "sides" who see politics like a spectator sport, you blindly cheer for your team and rubbish the other team no matter what.

edit: case in point... *looking meaningfully at a certain poster*

The usual liberal whining and moaning and crying that it's facetious on Trump's part in all of this.

Many conservatives were against this policy too.

Trump implemented this policy differently than Obama and Bush.

I see many Trump supporters here prioritizing illegal immigration over the well being of children. That's another way of seeing this. Maybe we should all be grateful that this horrible policy has ceased.

How is it a spin? You HAVEN'T been screaming to keep kids with their parents through all this? Could have fooled me!
A. I'm not on the left.

B. "Wanting to put kids in gaols" is hardly a fair representation of what people want.

It's a defeat because the problem still stands.
Those entire families will be expelled, because they are illegal immigrants.

So...either we help, as UNO, those LA countries and we ask for the cooperation of the EU too...or laws should change

I feel sorry for immigrants... it's gotta be a miserable crisis to be in sometimes...but still, they should enter the country legally...otherwise they are criminals and they should receive consequences for having disregard for the laws of the land...
