So, which law(s) did CBS supposedly violate? And, btw, a synonym for "word salad" is "Trump".

It has to do with election laws. CBS by doctoring the transcript has given the Harris Campaign a campaign donation, that has not been registered. It has become a campaign ad. This could have an impact on their FCC license to be called a news organization. They can do it one way,, or the other, but not both ways. They will need to pick one or it will be picked of them.

If Trump lose he can sues for damages. It Trump wins, he will control the DOJ and the FCC and there may be fines and criminal liability. This will the gift that keeps on giving. It is also shot across the bow the entire DNC propaganda wing; TV, newspaper, internet, etc. Others can then sue the propaganda wing satellites, at the state and local level.

Most of the campaign money spent on election is spend to buy time on mass media. How much would CBS charge to run this much Political add cover for a candidate client? That is the value of that illegal donation. The DNC already out spends the RNC, even before fake news gives questionable campaign donations. That is the illegal target. When you need a license to operate something or in this case - broadcast something - you have to follow certain guidelines. The license from the FCC comes with terms and conditions. You are given a manual and guidelines and if you don't abide by those certain rules and regulations then the license can be revoked. For example: you have to act in accordance with the copyright Act, you have to refrain from using foul language over the air etc.
If the intention is proven that they switched the answers of this candidate to protect exposing her incompetence then it is wrong and by default - it is interfering with the election because people need to see what Kamala is really made of. They need to know what they are voting for!

I'm not a Democrat, but I am an American voting for Kamala Harris. I am doing so because I feel it is the best choice if I am working from the ethos of:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

In a sense, standing up for everyone and everything, eh? (As long as these Rights don't trample on other people's rights, such as is more prevalent with the Trump ticket.)

US President Joe Biden has put Vice-President Kamala Harris in charge of controlling migration at the southern border following a big influx of new arrivals.
Mr Biden said he was giving her a "tough job" but that she was "the most qualified person to do it".
The numbers of people arriving have grown since Mr Biden took office.
They include hundreds of unaccompanied minors who are being held in immigration detention facilities.
Mr Biden's predecessor, Donald Trump, was widely criticised over his government's treatment of young migrants at the US-Mexico border.

Since January, the Biden administration has reversed a policy of turning away unaccompanied children, instead choosing to process them and place them with sponsoring families in the US.
But Mr Biden's critics say his policies have led to a surge in illegal migration.
