Trump To Legalize Marijuana?

He'll do whatever is good for him. In this case I suspect it would be bad for him, so no, I expect not.
Unless, of course, his investment team has been researching the profit potential of various ways to cash in on the knowledge that only POTUS has available.
He is smart, after all.

He can't legalize it. He'd lose the evangelical base. But then again, their moral compass isn't the most reliable.
Won't matter if he doesn't plan to run for office again.

Trump needs to do things to expand his base if he's to have any chance at all in 2020. As it stands, he doesn't have enough support to win. So maybe he knows that, and maybe this is one of the early signs he's trying to expand his base.

With all the stuff coming out now, he has to do something. The withdrawal of Troops from Syria has equally angered the Democrats and GOP. This guy is all over the place lately. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

I think he has already been a Democrat in the past.

Sure he was best buds with the Clintons when he was donating to them. Probably be best buds again after he is out of office. Maybe he is the Manchurian president. Planted by the Clintons to make the republicans as bad as possible.

They are all very good actors.

I dont think Trump is Democrat or Republican. In reality, he is simply an opportunist that will take whichever name will benefit him the most.

The Clintons?
I think it's Putin and the Russian oligarchs.

And now that the USA oligarchs have their tax cuts and such they don't need him any more. He is likely to have a rough next couple of years.

Kinda like Saddam Hussein did after his failed attempt to subdue Iran left him a political liability to Bush I.

I wondered that myself. However, considering they will just believe anything he says anyway, if he does it, then it's good in their minds too. Win-win. :)

I largely agree about the morality.
The "big government" part is that the fed has over-reached its constitutional authority IMO.
At the very least, making it illegal on the federal level is aggressive.
But, currently, it is illegal federally, meaning that, technically, it is illegal in every state medically and recreationally. So, without action from the federal government, states will not have any authority (again technically speaking) to make it legal in any form.

This!
The morals of conservative evangelical Christians twist in the wind.
Trump is solid evidence of that.

think of the tax revenue
but then again.....I've just read a report that the illegal trade is robust as ever
and only 5% of the pot is taxed
That is largely because the federal government hasn't acted. In DC, for example, pot is legal recreationally. The US Congress tried to stop legalization, but, instead, simply made it impossible to be taxed. The Federal Government must take marijuana off the schedule 1 drug list before it can be taxed in any significant way.

I remember telling someone here that I would take a picture of myself wearing a MAGA hat and post it if he legalized it. That still stands.

Trump is not a dictator and can't "legalize it". He could sign a bill that Congress passes but to even discuss whether or not "HE" can make it legal is to ignore the Constitutional separation of powers.

Only if it had a pot leaf in it to signify why you were wearing it.

Meh. I doubt Trump would do something like legalizing cannabis that would likely alienate a large portion of his bumpkin base before winning a second term, anyway. Him not being completely useless would be refreshing, though.

I'm not so sure it would negatively affect his chance of reelection. For example; This year in Oklahoma (which is a heavily Republican state) we passed medical cannabis by a landslide.

Whatever you want me to be.
Trump would have made a good democrat.

Not to long ago Trump was agreeing with the Left on gun control issues, but then the NRA stepped in and he changed his tune overnight. Given the opportunity I think Trump would align with the Democrats on many issues, as I think he tends to just go with what's been presented to him; however, he also plays party politics and once the Republicans "correct" him, he'll side with them.
