Rhetorical question, right? These "rugged individualist" MAGA who see every immigrant as being a societal parasite will take anything they can get from the government. These are the people who scream for the government to butt out of their Medicare, they're first in line for FEMA checks, and were happy to take Covid money.

There's something called medical bills after two heart attacks and a double bypass. but I'm sure you will not understand any of that.

How did that happen to you, especially before age 60? It suggests that you had multiple risk factors. Do the nonsmoking, nonobese, nonsedentary men in your family who see physicians regularly to mitigate metabolic risk factors (blood sugar, cholesterol) and blood pressure have significant cardiovascular disease while still middle aged? If so, there's not much you can do about genetics.

If medical bills are keeping you from saving, I guess your problems came when you were uninsured or underinsured.

I understood that to mean that you have or had Obamacare, but if you did, why are you having problems with medical bills relating to hospitalizations and procedures? I realize that you probably consider Obamacare a Communist health care plan and countries like Canada and Norway with universal health coverage for their citizens Communist and Marxist as well, but those people don't experience financial hardship because of medical bills, and neither should you if you had Obamacare.

Regarding losing your doctor, apparently he or she opted out of taking Obamacare patients - something Obama had no say over. I gave up patients who became members of HMOs because I chose to not participate.

Obama had just become president when I retired from medicine, so I have no experience with it, but if it's like Medicaid and Medicare, it sets prices for what it will pay for various medical services, and not all physicians will want to participate with any or all of those programs.

It's remarkable given your situation that you would vote for somebody who would take benefits from you. I guess you have no idea of what he intends for people like you. You might think that he likes you because you support him, but if so, that's wishful thinking. You're the unwashed masses to him - the riff-raff who exist to work the businesses of the elites like a farm animal. You're a basement dweller to him:

I agree with you for once. There will likely be no effective resistance to Trump. Where would it come from? Free and fair elections above the local level are probably a thing of the past, so the liberals can't save America from Trump. I don't see the military mutinying or the police resisting. Trump will control the Department of Justice and has immunity from criminal indictment, so there will be no laws enforced against Trump.

So who then, and how?

I think that this is a very important point to assimilate quickly. I'm reminded of the people in the police videos who defy the police thinking that they have rights and leverage that they don't have. The difference between them and the average American citizen considering resisting Trump is that they never had those rights, whereas the latter can be expected to make major errors assuming that the way that American society operated in the past still pertain and protect them.

What will they do if they are spirited away and beaten because some fascist with power feels like it to send a message to others thinking of resisting? Call Saul? Good luck with that.

The natural reaction to words like mine is to reject them out of hand with the understanding that that is not how America is, and I am being alarmist, but everything has changed now. The past no longer predicts the future. America and Americans have never been in this position before.
