Trump Voter Assaults Elderly Poll Worker in Texas

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
And? Your side has been telling people in that position--poor people--they just need to cut spending and learn how to live within their means.
It's crap that's normal life for many Americans and it's "socialism" to help them out, it's a useless expense to cut and we can't have it. But when Middle America sees inflation during a good economy they start crying how bad it is, start insisting the economy is doing bad, blind themselves to lowering prices and insist the state must do something about it.
It's always good advice to be responsible with ones spending , but unfortunately good advice is oftentimes ignored by those who think money grows on trees and it doesn't take a brain surgeon to know when you're being royally bull****ed when you go to the store and see the kind of prices you see today and wonder how you hell you're going to survive in life with something simple is putting food on the table and keeping a roof over your head while the political overlords are saying the economy is doing fine and everything is good.

I have pointed out that to many people here, that not only will prices not go down, we would not want them to go down because that takes a very bad economy. That is the one campaign promise of Harris's that appears to be al lie. The period of strong inflation is over. We had the soft landing that Biden was hoping for. He did not do the work himself. He was wise enough to follow what the experts in the field said. Trump himself constantly disparages experts and lies by saying that he could do better. And that is after he makes claims that would have cause him to fail freshman college economics classes.

But some of those prices are artificially high because of unusual circumstances affecting supply. If supply and demand are behaving normally, there is nothing wrong with them going down. For example, the price of poultry and eggs is largely a product of a serious avian flu epidemic, resulting in the slaughter of infected populations of birds.

And those prices will almost certainly come down. I have noticed a sizeable increase in the price of eggs, but not so much of poultry. though part of the price increase in eggs will not go away in my state. All eggs are now cage free in Washington and that means that even when the birds recover those eggs will still have a slightly higher price due to that.

I recommend that you shop at Grocery Outlet, where cage-free eggs are sometimes heavily discounted when close to the sell-by date. OK, I'm a penny-pincher, so inflation doesn't hit me as hard as those who don't shop for bargains. :)

In my local Safeway they sell "Grade B" eggs. Those are repacks. If a carton of eggs has a broken egg in it they can no longer sell it as Grade A. They are hand repacked into new cartons with the lower grade on them. They are all priced about fifty cents a dozen less than their cheapest eggs. Though since the price of eggs went up far more people have discovered them.

How is America going to be great again if you tree hugging leftist commies are buying Grade B eggs!
