Actually I think this is a great idea. I'm all for it.

(Note: Borowitz humor piece)

Denmark Offers to Buy U.S.

If Denmark’s bid for the United States is accepted, the Scandinavian nation has ambitious plans for its new acquisition. “We believe that by giving the U.S. an educational system and national health care, it could be transformed from a vast land mass into a great nation,” the spokesperson said.

I know it's a satirical piece, but accepting this offer would be the only way Trump could "Make America Great Again". :p

You started it in post #12
Now you're just lying. I obviously was replying to the topic at hand, whereas you barge in to spew nonsense about immigration and globalism which have nothing to do with this thread. I have no idea why you zero in on me out of all the others people in this thread. What's your problem?

To the seller. Greenlanders could settle this or there could be separate payments to Greenlanders. When the world warms up, Greenland would be a nice place to stay. We could perhaps give USD 200 billion (that is half our foreign exchange reserve). Do you think that is a fair price?

I think the annual economic output of Greenland, excluding its subsidies from Denmark, is somewhere around two billion dollars.

If Greenland were valued like a business and its GDP were treated like a company's annual earnings, and its worth were calculated based on a price to earnings ratio., Greenland would have an appraised estimated value of ca. 34 billion dollars. The average historic average price-to-earnings ratio among Standard & Poor’s 500 companies is about 17. So if we were to price Greenland like an average S&P 500 company and use GDP as a proxy for earnings, we would end up with a valuation of about $34 billion.

You may think I am a liar but I am not the one saying white people need to butt out.

I just wonder why some cultures are worthy of preserving when others in this Globalist world are not.

It is nothing personal and I respect your right to express your opinions but must they go unchallenged?

Who cares about them. Even though they've lived there for thousands of years, they're not white, so we consider the land vacant.

That's what's making me angry about the OP and most of the replies in this extremely offensive thread. People are acting like it's empty land, ignoring the indigenous people.

Greenland's population is only ca. 57,000 people. There'd be plenty of space to set aside for them. They could become prosperous by way of granting their community leaders a casino from which profits could be distributed into their tribal community.

I'm interested in buying Trump Tower for $3.75. I'd say both deals are equally probable

If Greenland were valued in the same way as a large business, it'd have an estimated value of ca. $32 billion. See post #26. Of course, Trump himself couldn't afford to buy Greenland at this price, but I'm sure if he partnered up with a dozen or so of his wealthiest financial supporters as investment partners, he and his fellow investment partners could manage to come up with enough money to purchase Greenland.

I think you've taken my post far more seriously than I intended it to be taken. I don't actually think there's any chance of Denmark selling Greenland any time soon.
Pretty sure you are correct :D

Our former prime minister wrote on twitter:

- It must be an April Fool’s Day joke ... but totally out of season.

Or we could let the native Greenlandic people decide the future of their homeland and stop this colonialist ****. China and India's problems with overpopulation are their own fault and others shouldn't have to suffer for it.
First of all Greenland have there own parlament and decide how they want to run it. Denmark give them money each year. The issue with Greenland is that it is very corrupt and in my opinion Denmark ought to take more control with it, to make sure that these things doesn't occur.

Denmark have treated Greenland very bad in the past, which is not something that any Dane is proud of, so wont deny that, but with the knowledge and mentality we have now, Greenland could be ran much better than it is now. If it was done in a cooperation between Greenland and Denmark. At least in my opinion..

It's not a business though so there is a 0% chance it will be sold to anyone.

The idea that Greenland could be turned into a valuable real estate and gambling gold mine is even dumber than the idea it is for sale to the highest bidder :D

It's almost entirely a remote, frozen wasteland and Europe already has casinos in almost every city.

This is what we'd want the Danes to believe. Global warming might melt Greenland's ice; thus, making this land habitable as well as more valuable, but we shouldn't advertise this prospect to Greenland's prospective seller, Denmark.

That is why I am going with world's largest all year long ski resort.
