Trump's New Spin On ‘We Fight Like Hell’ Speech On Jan. 6

Do you think he habitually lies on purpose or is lying so natural for him that he doesn't think before he speaks?

Based on what his sister and niece have said, both. Does he have bits of fantasy? Yes. Does he lie a lot? Yes.

The BLM leaders denounced the use of violence, whereas Trump and some Pub supporters of him encouraged it and the overthrow of our government through negating the results of the 2020 election.

No, the social media giants did that by manipulation of information. Then after they even bragged about it.
You mean how social media allowed conservative users to spread disinformation about election fraud and this resulted in a mass conspiracy against the USA. Social media allows way too much disinformation on its platforms, and this is leading to a decline in decency and ethics.

The 93 percent of Trump supporters that were law abiding? I agree.
There is no such stat. They aren't smart enough to realize they are being used and lied to. Someone is calling school board members and election officials and threatening their lives, and it isn't people who voted for Biden.

There is nothing good that comes from trump being in politics.

Nope you missed again. They suppressed the information about bidens son for one thing. They actually got together and asked how they could influence the country against Trump.

The former President, Donald Trump, deliberately downplayed his "we fight like hell" speech on January 6 in a recent interview with Laura Ingraham. He insisted that his speech was "extremely calming." So, what do you think of his attempt to backpedal?

Read the entire article: Donald Trump Defies Belief With New Spin On ‘We Fight Like Hell’ Speech From Jan. 6

Donald Trump attempted to spin his inflammatory speech ahead of the Jan. 6 insurrection into something much more mellow and measured on Friday night.

The former president, during an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, claimed the incendiary address that whipped his supporters up into storming the U.S. Capitol in a bid to overturn the 2020 election was “extremely calming.”

“Honestly, I have nothing to hide,” Trump told Ingraham during a conversation about a federal appeals court’s refusal to let him block the release of records to the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 violence.

“I wasn’t involved in that,” Trump declared. “And if you look at my words and what I said in the speech, they were extremely calming, actually.”

Instead, Trump claimed, the insurrection took place on Election Day, and the attack on the Capitol was just a protest.
Have you watched an unfiltered recording of the actual speech yourself or are you basing you comments on what other have told you was in the speech?

Yes, I have watched an unfiltered recording of his actual speech. It was broadcast live on C-Span. The Wall Street Journal posted just his speech, and not the other speakers at the rally: Trump's Full Speech at D.C. Rally on January 6. It's over 70 minutes in length.

Again the vast majority of the Trump supporters at the capital that day were peaceful.

Apparently the vast majority of Trump supporters at the Capitol were not peaceful, because 727 people who participated in the riot have been arrested by the FBI, and many have already been convicted, and the convictions include a felony charge, jail and prison.
You both are using different specific locations, as W wrote "capital" [D.C.] and SP wrote "Capitol" [building]. At the latter there definitely was much violence.

Yes, I used the word Capitol, because the violent riot that ensued in an orchestrated effort to stop Congress, and VP Mike Pence, from certifying the electoral vote (that would verify Joe Biden as the next U.S. President) was at the Capitol building, which is where the two chambers of Congress (the House of Representatives and the Senate) reside. The word Capital is sometimes used when the January 6 attack on Congress is mentioned, but the correct spelling is Capitol.

Oh, you're referring to right wing disinformation. Remember Rudy Guiliani going over to Ukraine to get all that damning evidence that never was revealed? And remember that Rudy is being investigated for fraud.

But @Wildswanderer may have used "capital" as a reference to also Trump's rally that eventually led to an assault on the "Capitol". Hopefully, he'll chime in and clarify.
