Trump's response to Roseanne Barr's firing.

Yep. There was no difference in disagreeing with Obama and being racist. I heard it for 8 years. Just like if you disagree with a woman senator you were sexist. It was a profound voice on the left which had conservatives shaking their heads.

Yes, you can criticize Obama and not be racist
I had a poster here tell me I was racist for disagreeing with Obama's policies.
Such people have no idea how they appear to others.
They're too convinced they have the truth to see the larger picture.

Those people are idiots. "The boy who cried wolf" only serves to hinder the fight against actual racial inequality and injustice.

Apparently not many, anymore. Like I said, our culture doesn't seem value ethics and etiquette very much.

Fooled by what? One should expect a person in such a powerful and public position to possess some propriety.
For someone who starves for respect, Trump certainly struggles with being respectable.

With all due respect, I'm not even sure you understand what you're trying to say about politicians who hide their true selves and/or intentions.

Bill Maher started that as a response to Trump insisting Obama was born in Kenya. And Trump tried to sue over it. So, of course Maher kept digging at it, and even got Jane Goodall in on it, because only a fool would try to pick a fight with a comedian.

Okay, then...that make's it right as rain.

Nice misrepresentation! I found it enjoyable to be sure. Hate speech = hate speech. This is like how the left cried about the right hanging a fake obama, then cheered when the left decapitated a fake Trump. It's pathetic.

That's amazing. When my father was dying of cancer his doctor wasnt allowed to give him treatment that could have saved him because it wasn't approved by the gov. Ot "could kill him" so he couldnt have it even thiugh he was a walking dead man. The doc was willing to risk his liscence but my parents wouldn't let him. Dad died not too long after!

I won't even address this laughable farce. Just look at how this user thinks recognizing the positives in something means you fully support it! As Trump would say: "SAD!"

Hahahaha so a black person getting a job or scholarship over a white person because they're great great ancestors were a certain race isn't racism? Yeah, not interested thanks!

Sorry for your loss.

Now, what's more wrong with the scene? Maher making a point over how stupid the "Birther movement" was, or Trump trying to sue and strong arm Maher into silence and render his free speech void?
And, BTW, the whole thing would have died off had Trump left it alone. But he decided instead to pick a fight with a comedian, so of course it lived on and became a running joke in his stand up and on Real Time. Trump has only himself to blame, and if he put in the effort to live in the world that exist outside of himself he would have known comedians are not people you want to pick a fight with because when someone does the issue tends to go on longer and stabs become deeper because the comedian knows they have the attention of the subject of their joke.

People in positions of power and prestige are expected to display a level of tact, class, and decorum. It shows that they have enough sense and self-awareness to be fit for the role.
Who expects that?
I do. And I suspect most civilized people do. Do you think the leaders of other Countries have any respect for Trump. Members of his own cabinet have called him a moron.

The people who like him are simpliticans who believe him when he says environmental deregulation will bring back coal miner jobs or slapping huge tariffs on China will bring back the steel mills.

  • Pointing out Trump's continuous lies is not subjective nor is it hate speech.
  • Pointing out that Trump tries to undermine DOJ and FBI is not subjective nor is it hate speech.
  • Pointing out that Trump tries to undermine the Free Press is not subjective nor is it hate speech.

Uh, we were talking about what constitutes hate speech. Do try to keep up.

I was referring to disagreement with Obama's policies constituted being called racist for doing so by the left.
But that's a RW talking point and said by every other conservative. I've heard Rush mention it hundreds of times. What you'll notice is there are zero examples and zero proof to back it up. RW media gotcha!

RW media enjoys playing the race card, they know their audience very well. Lots of research into the mind of the conservative base.

Like the liberal left doesn't do the same thing.

Glad I'm Independent seeing both sides rather than one. Too many follow what pundits like Rush and Sean come up with after seeing/hearing what people say. I listen to what they say in real time and make my own decisions on what they are saying. I listen to Pelosi Shumer, Trump, Giuliani etc. as they talk. And not to people who tell you what they said. When group think gets on either CNN or Fox, I turn the channel. When a Dem and Rep are on at the same time giving their views on issues, I listen to both and make up my own mind which one makes more sense. Some times a Dem makes perfect common sense to me. But most of the times, their answers I just can't accept. Like open borders and sanctuary cities. Fox didn't tell me that. Listening to Gov Jerry Brown, and Rahm Emanuel tell me that.

There is no left and right to me. Just what I see as ignorant or common sense.

Yeah, he's not really a witless cretin, he's only pretending to be one. Flawless presidential strategy.

Isn't America grand? Where even a witless cretin can create a billion dollar company and become president of the US.

Doesn't really excuse the fact the the press just about wets itself with excitement every time Trump tweets something they can make a controversy out of.

They don't just fabricate stories and a narrative. False equivalence. I have original thought and opinion, you're just repeating what RW media tells you all day long. That's the effect of the saturation propaganda technique.

Repeat misinformation as much as possible and the audience will come to believe it as truth. Facts don't back up the stuff you claim. Which is why you never provide sources or examples.

RW media doesn't give you examples, so that's how I know. If there were examples, I'd have heard them. I guess that's the benefit of watching Fox more than anyone else here.

You yourself regurgitate a ton of LW media talking points. You and Esmith are basically RF's version of what it would look like if MSNBC and Fox were to debate face-to-face. And original thought? That's something very, very few people ever have. Not to be insulting, but a matter of fact that chances are pretty good it's already been thought.

Here is the thing that always puzzled me. Conservatives went crazy with the idea that Obama was not born in the US, and they kept pushing this idea that Obama was born in Kenya. Of course, it wouldn't have mattered if Obama was born in Kenya because his mother was a US citizen. So why keep pushing this Kenya nonsense?

Fast forward just a handful of years and you have Ted Cruz who was running for the Republican nomination for President. Ted Cruz was born in Canada. Ted Cruz was not born in the US. Not a peep from any Republican.

How can the obvious racial undertones of this whole thing be ignored?
