"What Tuesday night’s results suggest is that Trump is perhaps the most profound vote repellent in modern American history. [ibid]"

From the New York Post no less. Gotta love it! :D

I saw this nickname for him in the news.
It's about Trump's disastrous effect on candidates he supported.
Here's how Donald Trump sabotaged the Republican midterms

Amazing that some people still want to vote for this guy.

“Well, I think if they win, I should get all the credit,” Trump said in an interview with NewsNation that aired Tuesday. “And if they lose, I should not be blamed at all. But it will probably be just the opposite.”

I recall that claim too.
How can he believe that expressing such a
silly self-serving opinion would boost his stock
in the eyes of voters & supporters, eh.

He knows that his followers are extreme Kool Aid drinkers. He appears to take his claim of getting away with shooting someone in New York seriously.

Trump didn't sabotage anything. The republican candidates did it to themselves. There are lots of angry bigots and haters in the US these days. But not enough of them to win most elections in most places. Only some elections in some places.

Many of these candidates were boosted in their primaries by both Trump's endorsement and Democratic money. Saner, more moderate Republicans would arguably have beaten them if not for those factors.

And this, of course, suggests that the DP strategy of funneling money to the vile-wing of the GOP had some success. Why do I find this so disturbing?

He should also know that the people he most
needs to influence are the non-cult-members.
To preach crazy to the loonies who'll side with
him no matter what...this has no value, & only
alienates sentient people who might've supported
him.

Cuz the tactic could be used against Dems too?
Or cuz it shows that dangerous loonies are
easily swayed by advertising?
Or cuz there are so many of them?

Did I get a hit?

Perhaps has one scientific brain cell in his head then - given he seems to understand the workings of a diode. :D

Meanwhile, it should be entertaining to watch Keven McCarthy balance the tasks of remaining deferential to Pence and friendly toward the marginally more rational GOP House Members, all while fawning over DeSantis and bending over backwards to kiss the a** of Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Hmm, this article seems to be not that informative and even outright misleading.
It claims:
The surest way to lose in these midterms was to be a politician endorsed by Trump.

This is not hyperbole.

Here is a better article:
Trump endorsed 75 candidates in the midterms. How did they fare on Election Day?

42/75 = 56% means that Trump endorsed candidates did fare slightly better.
It could be called close to a coin flip, but it definitely wouldn't be "disastrous" nor "the surest way to lose in these midterms".

Mid-term elections tend to strongly favor the
party not in the presidency. But this dint happen.
So Trump's advocacy for candidates looks bad
for them.
