From The Times of Israel:

The article notes:

Speaking to implications of the decision, S. Daniel Abraham Center for Middle East Peace managing director Joel Braunold said that Biden has “built a tool that can cut off the entire settler movement from US financial services.”
“The actions covered in the order include property destruction, seizure or dispossession by private actors alongside acts of violence, but it also covers government entities who have been deemed to have participated in these actions,” Braunold said, referring to settlement municipalities.
Biden “hasn’t pulled the trigger with this order, but he has built the system to cut off anyone deemed a threat to the peace, security and stability of the West Bank,” Braunold continued. “The administration is starting with a scalpel; but when people ask where is the leverage that the president has, the Biden administration has just created it.”
Thursday’s order does not cover American citizens, who make up an outsized portion of Israeli settlers. The Democratic chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Ben Cardin asked the White House to take action against this subset involved in violence against Palestinians.

I'll be interested in seeing how this evolves.

...Joe Biden signed an executive order on Thursday declaring a national emergency that allows him to implement new measures to combat settler violence, including sanctions concurrently announced against four Israeli extremists who carried out acts of violence in the West Bank.
Against only 4 individual settlers?
This hardly seems a warning with any effect.

The action is the furthest that any administration has taken to address the phenomenon, which has persisted despite repeated US warnings for Israel to address it, including after a series of first-of-their-kind visa restrictions were announced in December.
To fight killings & theft, the remedy
had only been visa restrictions?

The announcement also comes amid growing heat Biden has been feeling from progressive Democrats over his continued support for Israel in the war against Hamas and his opposition to a permanent ceasefire.
Now we know why he's finally doing
something, even if very little. Financial
sanctions against individual settlers will
do nothing. They'll still have government
& private support.

“The situation in the West Bank — in particular high levels of extremist settler violence, forced displacement of people and villages, and property destruction — has reached intolerable levels and constitutes a serious threat to the peace, security and stability,” Biden said
The violence, killings, & theft
were tolerable levels before?

“Israel acts against all violators of the law in all places,” the PMO statement continued, “and therefore there is no place for drastic steps on this matter.”
That's absurd. Israel's government gave tacit
approval & arms to settlers to illegally occupy
land using violence. It even arms settlers to
carry out this de facto illegal policy.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich went further, accusing Biden of making common cause with antisemites and legitimizing attacks on Israeli settlers.
And now the standard semitic slur is used on Biden too.
Israel has little gratitude for US taxpayers who prop up
their country. Biden shows a teensie bit of humanity
for Muslims, & Israel's ever faithful servant is the enemy.

Great news even if i have not read the documents yet.

Maybe, Joe is listening to what is being observed and having the claims checked.

Executive Order on Imposing Certain Sanctions on Persons Undermining Peace, Security, and Stability in the West Bank

I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, find that the situation in the West Bank — in particular high levels of extremist settler violence, forced displacement of people and villages, and property destruction — has reached intolerable levels and constitutes a serious threat to the peace, security, and stability of the West Bank and Gaza, Israel, and the broader Middle East region. These actions undermine the foreign policy objectives of the United States, including the viability of a two-state solution and ensuring Israelis and Palestinians can attain equal measures of security, prosperity, and freedom. They also undermine the security of Israel and have the potential to lead to broader regional destabilization across the Middle East, threatening United States personnel and interests. For these reasons, these actions constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. I hereby declare a national emergency to deal with that threat. Accordingly, I hereby order:

Section 1. All property and interests in property that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of any United States person, including any foreign branch, of the following persons are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in:

(a) any foreign person determined by the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury, or the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State:

(i) to be responsible for or complicit in, or to have directly or indirectly engaged or attempted to engage in, any of the following:

(A) actions — including directing, enacting, implementing, enforcing, or failing to enforce policies — that threaten the peace, security, or stability of the West Bank; or

(B) planning, ordering, otherwise directing, or participating in any of the following actions affecting the West Bank:

(1) an act of violence or threat of violence targeting civilians;

(2) efforts to place civilians in reasonable fear of violence with the purpose or effect of necessitating a change of residence to avoid such violence;

(3) property destruction; or

(4) seizure or dispossession of property by private actors;

As i read it, any duel citizenship persons, could lose their US property if they partake.

That last line, I focused on because some think that palestinians sell their property to israelis when I know personally that the lands are often seized. ILLEGALLY!

And now my government, is addressing it.

Cudos.

Let's be clear, I support the existence of israel and love about every Jew that I know. 10/7 was an atrocity that should never have occurred.

But now 2/1........... may be even worse to the fringe.

This latest tactic looks like window dressing.
It remains to be seen if his "sanctions lite" threat
will boost his image where it suffers, eg, SE MI,
which has many Muslims, blacks, & young people.
Genocide Joe is losing ground with them because
of his unquestioned deadly devotion to Israel.

Remind me, whose ancestors were not settlers?

What's the statute of limitations, and why is it longer for Israelis?

Did he order more U.S. airstrikes in the Middle East on the same day?

Biden's approval ratings are dropping within his base of support because of the worsening situation in the Middle East. When I first read this story, I wasn't sure why he was doing this, but it strikes me as a messaging strategy to reaffirm US support for the two-state solution, which is much opposed by the Netanyahu government. Right now, Israel seems to have no strategy for ending the fighting other than a mass exodus of Palestinians out of Gaza and the West Bank. Those committing the violence in the West Bank seem to be engaging in a pattern of ethnic cleansing there. The executive order makes sense from that perspective.

False. It's to eliminate Hamas, which is a terribly difficult task because of Hamas' embedding itself in hospitals, schools, etc,, all connected to 350 tunnels with thousands of rockets being at their disposal. If these rockets were hitting your area and endangering your family, what would you do?
