UN attacks Israel

Gharib

I want Khilafah back
They have finally supported something long overdue. I think the world is getting fed up by the crimes of Israel and their genocide of the Palestinian people.

Just because Jews were once persecuted in the worst ways possible it doesn't give you a free pass to commit the most unthinkable crimes on the face of this earth and play the victim card over and over. Or blame others for their crimes (as mentioned in the article) and somehow justify your own actions because someone else is worse than you. The Syrian war has been going on for 5-6 years, your genocide of the Palestinian people has been going on for 5-6 decades, and yet you still feel you are the victim in this case.

I don't know whether to laugh at you or feel sorry.

This has been a long time coming. Israel has continued to push the envelope and now there appears to be some push back. Although, to be fair, I highly doubt much of anything will come of this.

So are you saying that you are managing to constrain their increase to about 3% that takes some doing....

Who is this post directed toward ? You don't know any of my views on Israel or the Palestinians. Do you want to have a discussion or a rant ?

Genocide is a poor term to use, for sure. But there are some very questionable actions taken by Israel since it's birth that should be investigated. But we all know it won't happen.

Do you agree Israel is treated much worse by her neighbors than she treats her Palestinian people ?

Yes, "genocide" is a very emotive word. In this context presumably intended to stir up anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic sentiment.
Not counting the millions who have moved abroad to live, work and study, the Palestinian population of Gaza and West Bank has increased by 450% since 1970.

First we have to quantify and define "worse". We are treading into murky waters and I am not a fan of walking in water when I can't see the bottom.

It makes one wonder whether we should eliminate funding the UN.

Hmm... that figure is suspiciously high. Where did you see that number at?

No one in the Middle East is without blame. The only solution I'd support whole-heartedly would be rendering the entire area a UN administration zone, from the Suez to the Iranian border.

Maybe when all of those squabbling children learn to play nice and share their toys they can have sovereignty back.

You sound like Bill Clinton when he said we need to define the word "is". You don't know the definition of the word "worse" ? Hehe.

Well, no. But when you are trying to directly compare two things, those two things need to have something to compare. "Worse" is a very broad and abstract term. If you want to continue this discussion, we first need to define exactly what we are comparing. Sound fair?

Jake: No doubt the world community could and should do more to improve healthcare in Gaza and West Bank but to resort to making cheap political points like that ...
I think Israel will have to get used to it though. The West wants the Arab oil, needs their goodwill in the war against terror and politically needs the votes of the growing Muslim populations in Western Europe.
I doubt half of these Western politicians could find the West Bank or Gaza on the map!, much less actually care, but that's politics.
