US Capitol rioters await Trump pardons

What lesser creatures were also commenting on is not my concern. What does concern me is seriously suggesting Democrats to stage a riot in an effort to sabotage the peaceful transfer of power. The bottom line is this: count me out; I'm better than this.
Okay, I get it. I just make a little more allowance for the fact that most of us are "lesser creatures." Being one, I have to. ;)

Possible problems for Trump to pardon the 'hostages.'

Harry P. Litman (born c. 1958)[1] is an American lawyer, law professor and political commentator. He is a former U.S. Attorney and Deputy Assistant Attorney General.[2][3] He has provided commentary in print and broadcast news and produces the Talking Feds podcast. He is a Senior Fellow at USC's Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership and Policy.[4] He has taught in multiple law schools and schools of public policy.
Litman served as a law clerk to Abner Mikva, Thurgood Marshall, and Anthony Kennedy. His practice specialties have included False Claims law and Whistleblower law.

But Canadian lesser creatures are different. Speaking of which:

“IT WILL HAVE BLOOD, THEY SAY; BLOOD WILL HAVE BLOOD.”

Three witches speak a prophecy of power to an ambitious warrior. When the prophecies prove true and the bodies pile up, where lies the blame: in prophecy, fate or Macbeth’s own secret desires? What alignment of stars guides the anti-hero Macbeth’s bloody hand? This bold reimagining of Shakespeare’s darkest tragedy by visionary director Robert Lepage sets the uncanny action during the Quebec Biker War of the 1990s. [source]

Still not sure I'll see that one -- I've seen so many great Macbeths over the last several years, including Colm Feore at Stratford. But you never know -- haven't nailed down how I want to enjoy the season next year.

That's why the Dems lost. They thought they were better than Trump and didn't need to use the new rules Trump made for himself to win. And, because it worked so fine, Trump will make more new rules, which he thinks will only apply to him - because Dems won't use them.
The jury's still out, but as it stands, inciting an insurrection is A-OK.
Acting on it is not - as of now, but that is going to change if the rioters get a pardon.

Of course, my suggestion to stage a riot was hyperbole, but it was to show how far Trump and his supporters have deviated from the laws and rules without getting corrected by the judiciary or the voters. The rules have changed.

The US was the most criminal country in the world even before Trump, but now it has become a majority criminal country. When given the choice between a crook and a cop, they choose the crook. That is the current reality. You have to adapt or go extinct.

We've picked the week, reserved the hotel, and selected and scheduled the (7) plays we intend to see. We'll be purchasing our tickets at noon Eastern this Thursday. :)

Trump has said he would pardon them, so now they're all lining up and ready for their pardons.
I think a lot of them are in for a rude awakening. A pardon doesn't erase the offense or the finding of guilt; it just removes the criminal punishment.

I get why being out of prison is preferable to being in prison, but they're still going to have civil liability to deal with. A lot of these people may find themselves bankrupt and unemployable.

And AFAICT, a pardoned offense can still get considered as part of their prior criminal history if they commit any more crimes in future.
