Useful&practical spiritual/religious teachings/concepts.

Let’s get elementary. Suppose a stranger asks for some general life advice. Consider your spiritual and religious beliefs, and then give the stranger an answer that they can just take, walk away, and use. Give them your general rule of thumb.

I’ll start.

Positive affirmation! Put positive thoughts into the world and expect positive things to happen, and then positive things will be more likely to happen! It’s similar to the colloquial understanding of “karma” (do good things, good things bounce back to you).

The church I’ve been attending is all about positive affirmation.

Affirm with your heart and words that you will have a good day at the start of the day, and you will improve your chances. It’s more than placebo, the belief is there is a literal transmutation of universal energy in our favor when we use positive affirmation.

So, what about you? What can you tell me? I’m the stranger in the scenario! Get elementary with me! Tell me your spiritual precepts that is perhaps “simple” to grasp.

Imagine mana as water.

Water flows downward to the lowest points. Water sands down the roughest stone. No matter how low you have fallen, how far you have strayed, and how rough you have become, there is water available to you. All you need to do is drink and you can be replenished.

Today is a good day to start doing good. Drink.

Understand that the core of you is infinite oneness consciousness (God/Brahman/Source) and you can attain peace, love and happiness there at all times despite the everchanging world and situations that will come and go.

Heed the Four Agreements:

1. Be Impeccable with your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the Word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your Word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

I wouldn't say expect positive things to happen back. Then you are doing it for even more selfish reasons than to start with and if you don't see the impact immediately or understand how it works then they may not continue to do good things and feel like they are owed

@IamYourYahaweh instead of trying to detract from the other replies, how about you make a positive contribution to the thread?

What is your basic spiritual precept that you go by on the day to day basis?
Imagine making a negative contribution to my comment while accusing me of doing the same. Who is to say if my comment is positive or negative.

And I dont have spiritual precepts I go by. I just am. I don't have to think about what rules to embody that day or week
