Why aren't people reading the article mentioned in OP?

I have a hard time believing anyone who thinks this is not a concern for non-Catholics. They are openly trying to change law globally. The pope made it our business. Opposing such is not anti-Catholicism.
Perhaps if believers portray themselves as saintly
compared to the heathen, then it's OK to take
away other people's rights.
What else explains the discussion heading in
that prejudicial direction, eh.

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

Do what you like and vote how you wish, and maybe you'll have plenty of votes. And you probably will.

Please post sources - thanks.
I tried, but it isn't easy to get the information I want. My information from a respectable German magazine may be outdated (by a lot). It seems that some of the worst offenders (misereor and Brot für die Welt) have changed their policies and are now ranked highly.
I retract my previous statement.

Thank you!

By the way, I lived in Germany and so did my daughter and I go there regularly. I've been back at least four times since I lived there and I absolutely love it!

I visited for a week.
Too tidy.
Too organized.
Too spendy.

The Germans ARE very tidy and neat and organized. As for the spendy part, maybe you were just in the wrong areas!

I was trying to remember that famous quote about different European personalities and Heaven and Hell, but all I know is that it included the English, Swiss and Germans, Italians and all that bidness. Something about cooking and trains running and all that.

No, it's about the things I'd need to buy....
Land with large buildings for machinery.

Although where I was (Hof), I discovered
that they had no hardware stores. My host
had to have an industrial connection in
order to re-up his supply.
That might've been an area specific problem.

It must be but I don't know for sure, not being into hardware stores. I know that the Germans in particular are very "into" the upkeep of their houses and vehicles and they don't hire everything done. Also I know that even thirty years ago, places like Lowe's or Home Depot were common. Of course, they were called something else, like Globus or OBI.

Lol, okay. If you were ever down and out, homeless and needed help, you wouldn't be saying that. Where's the atheist, humanist and antitheist charities helping destitute people? That's right, they don't exist.
This is silly. I've volunteered for charities that help the homeless. I donate to a foodbank that gives food to those struggling. I pay my dues to a renters union that fights for better housing and lower rents. All secular.

Interesting. I can't think of any large scale charities where I used to live (just moved, sorry) that are secular, but I can name charity after charity that was started by a church! Maybe it's area specific or size specific.

You know what - I just thought of one that I give to regularly. Carter Bloodcare. I give platelets regularly in memory of my dad. I looked them up and they are basically just in Texas.

Oh, well...those without a Menards
must make do with lesser stores.

Yeah, at this point it's nothing more than atheophobia to not double check the claim and instead repeate the erroneous scoff of claiming there are no secular charities.
