Vegan Misconceptions

I have been lacto-ovo-veg for years at a time. Then I go carnivorous when the mood takes me. Vegans become excellent cooks. And the protein thing is just a beatup. Toor dahl is nearly 20% protein. And anyway, the body can only absorb about 25 grams of protein in one sitting. So most of a big steak becomes expensive urine. Madness.

Do You Have A Source for that

And faba beans - lots of L-DOPA. Which is the precursor to dopamine. So it's aphrodisiac, produces growth hormone and improves mood and sleep.
Spinach - full of ecdy steroids. Anabolic. Ditto for yams (sweet potato) and quinoa.
I did a lot of research into nutritional medicine. A vegan diet is more than just carbs and protein and vitamins.
Cannellini beans contain a natural carb blocker for weight loss for example.
There is so much to learn.

I can find a source for the protein absorption limit, but it is a well established fact according to most nutritionists I think. Ask google...

Hope that last post didn't seem terse or rude, but I'm posting from a phone and don't have a list of sources handy.

There are proteins in everything you eat. The only way to get a protein deficiency is if you are starving. If one if really concerned about it, dark leafy greens provide the maximum source for plant-based protein, like kale and collard greens.

Another misconception and also something i here from ex vegans is i never felt full or satisfied. My experience and my research has lead me to believe that diet wasn't adequate, likely suffering from a lack of variety among other things.

All ex-vegans were vegan for the wrong reason. They make it all about their own heath. Most vegans are vegan because they have compassion for all beings. If your reason for being vegan is the latter (with the animals in mind rather than your health), then you'll find a way to obtain adequate nutrition from plant-based sources. The thing is that those who change their diets for heath reasons and switch back for "health reasons" are either lazy about their diet either because they don't enjoy eating what they should, or because they give in to the convenience or cravings of animal products.
