Same reason I'm glad the Lakers traded Alphonso Ball (might step on a staple at Staples Center and go flat).

The late Jerry Buss, owner of the Lakers, was really nice (offered me jelly beans). I told him that it took a lot of talent to play basketball on a lake. I told him that I thought they made the lake by dribbling.

Hiya, fella.

Flat Earthers aren't claiming the world was once very briefly flat. They are saying that the world is flat now. This is an important point to note.

Also, the Earth briefly being flat implies pretty different laws of physics than the ones we know so we'd have to account for the universe temporarily conforming to rules that allow for the stable existence of discs with Earth mass that aren't deformed by their own gravitation/tidal forces. Lumps of matter beyond a certain mass pull themselves into spheres.

All of this makes the matter much more unlikely without the use of God's magic and if you are going to invoke God's magic why not make any unevidenced claim like, the Earth was a chocolate button for ten minutes in April 1992?

CONCLUSION:

Flat earthers and Globe earthers are not stupid. But both kind
of people do not see the whole situation.
They do not see "The Whole of the Moon", as tells this song:

Set up a scale of this using a light bulb, a flat disc, and something to rotate the disc with. The lighting and shadows of what you see on the simulated Sun and Earth will not match the patterns we observe happening every day.

I can explain the Theory of Evolution "man came from animals, but
he remained animal" as result of the authority of Charles Darwin
and satan. In Eastern Orthodox Church we write satan, with small s,
because we are not respecting enemy of Jesus. Jesus is person, and
satan has nothing in common with Jesus. Therefore, satan must be
written with small s.

People hate me everywhere, this is because I am not in the
top ten of scientists in the world. I wait for the opinion of Jesus. His opinion is both objective and subjective. There are many drunk idiots in most high circles.

Why am I having Jesus in my scientific quest? He is inside me. Why I am mixing my right hand into my scientific activity? Because it helps me to write papers. Why I am mixing my toilet room into research activities? Because my brain must function.
