Was Jesus gay?

There is actually evidence that he was straight. The biggest evidence is that no one mentions it. No one ever attacks him for it, no one tries to discredit him for it. So it seems that if he was gay, no one knew. It would have been a nonissue as no one knew about it.

Personally though, I see no reason to dwell on his sexuality. I don't think it is important.

He could have been closeted

That would be possible. However, in that regard, we would never really know.

Personally, I have no problem if Jesus was gay. I think it would be great in regards that it would make intolerance (at least for Christians) towards homosexuality nearly impossible.

But, I just don't see it, and really, I don't think his sexuality is very important then. I do admit that I find it more likely that he was straight, but that is simply because statistically, more people are straight. Since there is no substantial evidence he was gay, I just see no reason to entertain such an idea, and thus, his sexuality, to me, becomes a nonissue.

I don't know if there is no evidence. In my book the whole Beloved Disciple issue is one big maybe

Thing is the Greek term for beloved in G.John is the same term used for beloved as in the Sept. version of the Song of Songs
Greek has numerous terms for love. Sexual/erotic love (actually where erotic comes from) was erao, while a more general term (love, affection) was phileo. The word in John is agapao. Especially by the time of the gospels, it refered to "brotherly love" (it's the same word used in "love they neighbor"), but throughout greek literature it was almost never used with sexual connotations.

philia means brotherly love not agapao

Which lexicon are you using? The LSJ is the lexicon for ancient greek, but it covers the whole period from homer to koine. For the greek of the NT, the lexicon to use is the BDAG. We can find instances of phileo used with a sexual connotation (e.g., in the Inscriptiones Graecae) but in general it just means affection. However, it was gradually replaced in koine wih agapao. In christian circles in particular, the term refered to the relationship among followers of Jesus and their devotion to Jesus.

EDIT: Also, philia is not a verb. If you want to compare philia to the concept behind agapao, see agape.

Jesus never had a girlfriend. And what about the naked boy that was seen running out of his house in Mark 14:51? Seems a little sketchy to me.
