The Amish (as I understand them) aren't really against technology per se, but....which will not be frequented by Amish people given that they are not allowed to use computers.
at least, not officially
Why is there an Amish DIR?
Why is there an Amish DIR?
Why is there an Amish DIR?
Just an educated guess, but I believe the original DIR classification did not stop to ask itself if any DIRs would be contradictory. It took a list of religions and pretty much created all the DIRs that seemed reasonable at the time.
We sure would like to hear from the Amish. No idea how that could be made to work, but we would.
I belong to the Studd Hill Moonlight Frolickers society. There's only two members (to my knowledge) but, Hell..... I wanna purple!
Then my wife and I could send posts to each other, and report any interruptions!
I am hoping one on rumspringa will come in someday.
They may use the Amish one in the meantime. We have so much to learn from them. And hey, at the very least their voice will not get lost in the noise.
Not that I lack in desire to cooperate with the creation of your own DIRs, but are you assuming that having a purple name in these forums is only possible once you are connected to a DIR?
That is not really true. All it takes is to declare yourself a theist by joining the aptly-named group. Much as the orange-named members have declared themselves non-theists.
If you want to "become purple" and don't know how to do it, just tell us in the Site Feedback area.
We still get to ask them question if they do come on don't we?
Oh, ....... by 'purple' I meant purple coloured section. Not all 'purples' are religions or faiths (on RF), surely?
You know I'm only using facetious rhetoric in that post, I'm sure.
I don't think that religious or faith 'purple' sections are wrong at all, Luis, I just think that many other types of exclusive sections restrict freedom of entry unnecessarily. It's just a personal opinion.
