"We're a family here." - Corporations to their employees

I never said that.

I can be friendly and professional with my coworkers without being "family" with them. To be "family" is unprofessional, and I prefer professionalism in my workplace.
Then I return to my first point, that you read too much into it. They're just trying to say they (want to) get along and help each other do their work.

I can understand what you mean, but if you're looking for a job, I think it'd be best for you to just ignore that expression and focus on other things, like what do they want you to do, can you do it and why should they hire you. (Remember, you're asking them to hire you.. they can also hire someone else. It really doesn't matter to them).

So, yeah, it was a very rude comment to come along and say it's all him for not getting along when the termination was over medical leave.
I never said "it's all him for not getting along" I didn't even know he was fired. If he mentioned it in the op, I forgot about it right away. Am I supposed to stalk through a poster's other threads too just to make a generalized comment?

Ya know......
I can get a good sense which posters would be
good workers, & which would have a tough
time getting along with co-workers & bosses.
If ever I were to hire employees again, I'd
want to look at their social media posts.
That would be a productive "interview".

I'd never allow my employer to look through my social media. That's a severe invasion of privacy. I might lock my Facebook down, honestly.

I think some do that, though I'm not sure if it's allowed.

In some companies they take you out to dinner and all just to see how you behave; be on time, well dressed, speak well, etc. before they hire you if they hire you.

For an Ameristanian, you sure do complain a lot.
And I suspect some difficulty getting along with management.
When management does stupid bull****ery like telling me to quit using my left hand, insist they kniw my body better, or tell me to do something in a way that's bad form and will hurt me more. And don't ya dare even think of telling me to take a short cut and not do my job.
Hate is what one brings to the job.
Here I can honestly say it was nurtured from a management team trains me poorly (like, seriously, I get hardly a shred of it compared to others who will get hours of training and even entire shifts compared to my a few times every once in awhile when it's very convenient for everyone) and then wants to see me as incompetent when I do mess up.
So, yeah, **** all the managers there, especially the two snitches who can't talk to me about something (I can never respect a manager who can't talk about things with employees) and the one who told me "it's not your work ethic I have a problem with."
But I'm not there fir them, I'm there for the donors and the donors love me.
There's one thing in common with all
the companies & managers you hate.
What would that be?
Largely and mostly, the managers I've hated would make for great cops and fit right in with em. There was only one who wouldn't, but he lied more than your average politician. I'd say maybe another, one who already has a history of planting evidence and blaming others, but the police don't exactly prioritize physical fitness and ability.

No, it's called reading the op and getting a gist of the conversation before you say something that comes off as rude.

Very true.
But employers need to learn how to express kindness too.
:)
All of us oughta, really.

I've heard that's pretty common.

Folks like me without social media would struggle... (I doubt most employers would want to look up my RF account.)

For a government security clearance, I'd think
examining social media would be required.
I once had a secret clearance at Northrop.
That was a spendy thing to pay for. Wouldn't
want some anti-Ameristanian gaining access
to weapon designs, eh.

People are imperfect.
One must learn to cope with those imperfections.
Anger & blame serve only failure.

More like fueling me to actually better myself and use my skills for myself than some company that's gonna tell me no when I want to actually use my skills.
More like helping me realize opportunities, if they don't happen by luck they don't happen so you have to make them happen.

People are impefect, but brazen and repeated lying and bullying people I don't tolerate. Telling me to do less than the minimum standards is something I'll argue about, particularly if it may have safety implications for the customer. And I'll argue with bad diagnoses and interpretations of behavior and dethrone Queen Stubborn of the Office while I'm at it.
One manager, we didn't like eachother at first but then a few of us got her to fess up that she's a sinner like the rest of us and she dropped the holier than thou thing and we actually got a long pretty well after that.
The ones who look out for us and have our backs, I really like them. But the ones telling us not to ask for more money when we're already massively underpaid for the type of work and other similar places down the road? I didn't like him and also still don't like that company with a hiring sign pretty much permanently affixed to its roof (and because they give to Autism Speaks).

It can take time to learn to deal with the working world.
I didn't become a paragon of success overnite.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

I've heard the stereotype of Ameristanians....Eurostanians
think we're fake friendly. Perhaps those standoffish,
haughty, formal, distanced, ferriners just don't understand
that we can be friendly, & be sincere.

There's one thing in common with all
the companies & managers you hate.
What would that be?
I agree again, and that makes several times in one day. Scary.
