Whales have hip bones.

So you think God would use completely different hip structure for every life form He creates?

So what you're saying is, is that.. although whales don't have hips..God didn't feel like making a better bone structure ? But yet he would focus his time on inserting useless organs inside us? ..I am not quite following SU.

Explain Creationists.

Not a mythologically literalistic creationist. There is no challenge to creationism posed by this fact if you're not in that narrow category of creationists. Plus, I'm sure even the mythological literalists can easily come up with feasible explanations. Not ones you would accept, though.

What I'm saying is that God created a diversity of life. There are more species of life than can be counted.

It's not about one way is best, it's about every way that is possible.

You're thinking that if God is all powerful that He would have created the perfect life form from the beginning with no change necessary. God is not in a hurry.

You know what? That is an interesting way of looking at things. But unfortunately with that mindset, you can never lose an argument which makes you ignorant. How can anybody or anything ever disprove anything to you when you can easily just reply with such vague explanations as to which you have just given?

I am not saying that you are wrong, (even though my evidence-oriented mind might think so).. I am just saying that it seems very unlikely that you would be able to pin point factual evidence instead of keeping an extremely vague point of view so you can side with your belief.

You're theory is that since whales and humans have hip bones that evolution is fact and thus there is no God.

How does evolution being true disprove God?

I can come up with explanations too, God thought he wanted the whale/sea creature to have legs but then decided against it. I can say that God created us as a different type of animal but then changed it to look more like him and forgot about the appendix, I can say that Satan through dinosaur bones around the Earth to make us question our faith etc... but it doesn't mean that it is true or makes sense. All I would be ending up doing is being a naysayer to evidence instead of actually trying to figure out whats going on.

Its very easy to say.. "So what? God could have done that!" because what other way could you explain it? How about the Half Life of Uranium 238- 4billion years ? How would somebody explain that..? "Oh the bible isn't meant to be taken literal but god does exist!"

Perhaps it doesn't. But it proves that God might have been drinking a bit too much wine when he started creating stuff.

What I'm trying to figure out is the following: Are you obsessed with picking on the weakest kid at the playground because you find him to be particularly repulsive or because it's a means - albeit a cheap and unsavory one - of bolstering self esteem?

It's easy to say "God could have done it that way"? It's also very easy to say "God didn't do it".

What about the half life of Uranium being 4 billion years? Uh, so. On what page does the bible say the earth is only 6,000 years old?

The bible is not God.

So anyways, back to my main point. Your argument is "God wanted to evolve species over time?"

Very simple. That's how whale babies get made. They're not really "hip bones", they're a hinge for whales to get their groove on with the whale ladies. Nothing vestigal, fully functional.

No, I am pretty sure they are hip bones. :)

Huh? Where did that come from?

OH, I get it. You're making another straw-man. Silly me.
