Pigeons who can't even identify the chessboard they're trying to **** on.
Do you even know who Neil deGrasse Tyson is?
Assuming there is no deity, what are people really worshiping when they worship deity?
I think best case, they are worshiping nature, the universe, etc in the guise of a deity or deities. That is, when they ask themselves what sort of relationship they should have to deity, they are effectively asking themselves what sort of relationship they should have to nature, the world, the universe, etc.
Worse case, they are worshiping their own personality projected large.
One reason I am an atheist is that I realized that all prayers are simply questions to yourself. The only answers come from within and are a reflection of the person praying and not anything universal.
Do you even know who Neil deGrasse Tyson is?
That's not a statement affirming atheism, only a rejection of agnosticism.
A fake manipulative social-scientist.
Quite on the contrary.Well, people who worship deities do really believe their deity(-ies) is(are) real. So your entire thread is really moot since it only applies to atheists who want to make fun of theists.
A fake manipulative social-scientist.
True. But then, I am an agnostic with strong atheistic tendencies.
Actually, Tyson is a *real* astrophysicist.
What's to elaborate, when talking about the universe, he often brings the discussion around to how human caused global warming is similar to planetary warming in our solar system (?), and how humanity is an evil force in the universe.Interesting. Elaborate.
Kinda a funny question to ask a Pagan. I suppose the question makes more sense if one's theology doesn't regard gods and reality/nature as synonymous to begin with.
Quintessence,
If we look at the way the world is going, we can see that what the Bible says is accurate, 1Corinthians 10:19-22.
One of the very worse things people are doing is causing people of other nations to Blaspheme the Name of God, because they call themselves Christians, when the people of the United States are nothing like a Christian should be, 1Peter 2:21,22, Romans 2:23,24.
Jesus said that his followers would be known by the love they have for one another, John 13:34,35. Do you believe that bombing other nations in order to make a few very rich people richer is love??? People may claim to be Christians, but their actions prove they are liers, Titus 1.15,16.

If I say yes, are you going to start talking about pigeons again?Do you even know who Neil deGrasse Tyson is?
That's very much the crow calling the raven black, sync. I'm hardly interested with whatever new misinformation you're pushing this week.Who cares? Your rants are incoherent anyways
If I say yes, are you going to start talking about pigeons again?
Your riddles and obsessions aren't really interesting. Not if you can behave and keep the chessboard clean.
Oh no, it's biblically backed. Not my problem if you haven't read the bible thoroughly enough, or weren't taught various things. That's very much the crow calling the raven black, sync. I'm hardly interested with whatever new misinformation you're pushing this week.
I would have thought that it was clear from above that I don't really care what the bible says, sync - which, by the way, does not mean I don't know what it says. I've read your book, and likely actually know more about it than you do. (Of which, don't get in a bunch; I've hardly the interest to get into a spat regarding this.)Oh no, it's biblically backed. Also your opinions are hardly "biblically backed" - a second opinion that, again, means squat.
