What are the differences between God and Jesus Christ?

As far as I know, EVERYBODY has an eternal life.
A disbeliever will claim that there is nothing after dying, and there is no such thing as a soul.

I say that there IS such a thing as a soul, and only the body dies.
Not everyone has eternal life as far as Jesus is concerned:
“When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬
Eternal life is received by everyone that is born again. John 3.

Ah, so you think that you know who is going to heaven?
I think that some of us will be disappointed.
I don't think that we need to be "born again", unless there is something wrong with our faith in the first place.

..so that is your belief.
You are on the right track, but I am not, because I don't believe that Jesus is God. Therefore I can't go to heaven.

Do you think that G-d is unjust?
I don't.

I’m not the judge but Jesus did tell and demonstrate how to receive eternal life. At the end of Revelation it says anyone who isn’t in the Book of Life gets thrown into the Lake of Fire.

“Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”

No one but the specially selected ELECT of God goes to Heaven.

The other BELIEVERS who truly confess God and Jesus Christ will go to the earthly PARADISE.

The SOUL (Body and Spirit) of the WICKED will be DESTROYED.

Jesus Christ will be the judge of whom is classed as sinless and the ones whom are classed as WICKED.

We are called to not ‘JUDGE TO CONDEMNATION’ our fellow man lest we sin in our defective judgement.

Dont' you think it is a little odd that Jesus is supposedly referring to himself in the third person?

I don't think that we need to be "born again", unless there is something wrong with our faith in the first place.

Jesus said this:
“Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.””

Tell me .. can God destroy Himself?

It's a ridiculous question, of course.
Almighty God is eternal. That means He can't be destroyed.
..so tell me @Soapy, what is the "spirit" made of?
I’m not sure what you are asking nor why you are asking such a silly question.

You sound angry at something or some one and cannot recognise that what I am saying is true.

God… is the CREATOR.

God created spirits and put those spirits into bodies madd from the ‘dust of the earth’ and called them ‘Man’ (actually it was ‘ADAM’…. ‘Red earth’)

Because ‘Adam’ became sinful and refuse to carry out the requests and commands of their creator, GOD, their creator, gave them time to repent.

Given time and enough warning about their miscreant behaviour that was a cancer within humanity, God told them they would be DESTROYED.

Destroying BADNESS is not BAD.

What do you say to a part of a person that contract CANCER (or just call it ‘a debilitating desease’?

Would you DISAGREE on DESTROYING that part of the body of the person?

Well, I guess you’d answer is ‘No!’.

So why are you angry that GOD should destroy those of creation who are a CANCER within creation.

What God creates, God can also destroy!

And, NO, God cannot destroy himself.

We don't call the head of a department at work "father." So no, I don't see "father" as meaning "head."

I realize that in traditional Christianity the man is the head of the house. However, I consider this to be oppressive to women, and thankfully, outdated.

I'm still waiting for you to give your source for your definitions.
You won’t answer to what the roles and responsibilities of your head of department are because you know that it means that they set the standards and direction and oversees the way the department functions. He sets the rules and upholds those rules and decides on how to deal with things that are not going right… and puts forward praise for those that are going right.

What does the FATHER in a household do as a role and responsibility?

YES, you may not USE THE WORD, ‘FATHER’, but is there a difference in the role and responsibility of a head of department and the head of a household?

OT God regrets flooding the earth and NT God kills just about the entire population AFTER Junior fixes sin. Arguably NT God is more sociopathic.
There is no difference between the God in the Old Testament and the God in the New Testament.

In relation to destruction of wicked persons, the Old Testament God always proclaimed that the wicked would be destroyed.

This destruction of the WICKED PERSONS is coming into fruition in the New Testament (book of Revelation).

‘Junior’ was set the task of persuading as many as possible to REPENT from their sins and be saved from the DESTRUCTION that awaits those wicked ones who do not repent!

What is it you are arguing about that you do not see in the scriptures.

I have no issue with that.
It is all about interpretation.
It is about this worldly life v. the life hereafter.

If somebody is not "spiritual", in as much as they are living a material life, and do not have a correct belief, then "yes" they need to be "born again".
i.e. realise that their faith is not complete

Don't forget .. the Bible is full of parables and similes :)

And, NO, God cannot destroy himself.

..so if "spirits" are created, then from what are they created?
We know that they are not made of physical material.

In any case, the belief that spirits are created and destroyed goes against so many verses of the Bible, that it is difficult to justify, imo.

It is much more logical that spirits are immortal .. as is G-d.
Is the Holy Spirit immortal? Of course.
You saying that some spirits are immortal while others aren't is
just a claim.
Throwing Bible verses backwards and forwards, that "apparently"
agree with your belief, while ignoring ones that don't does not lead to a rational belief.

“You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:9‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:21-26‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The Bible declares that All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, there is none who are righteous, Ephesians 2 says we were dead in trespasses and sins and were made alive in Christ. The is truth and then error, some may have an improper interpretation and perish for it.

We are all sinners.
However, it is daft to say that none are righteous.

Yes, we can't all have the correct interpretation. Clearly, we all have different creeds.
Almighty God knows best who is sincere and who is not.
That, imo, is more important than our IQ .

Personally, I have no problem with "perishing"..
What does it matter? If you don't know anything, you miss nothing :)

No .. I'm more concerned with the consequences of sin. Too much of that leads to suffering, in this life .. and more importantly the next life. :(

Correct, we are all sinners and not righteous before God so not daft to say there is none righteous. Although there is One who never sinned nor was any deceit found in His mouth, Jesus Christ, He is righteous and the only one. The rest of us have sinned and fallen short of Gods glory and in God’s eyes unrighteous, all our works like filthy rags in His site until we are born again by repenting and believing that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose from dead the third day according to the Scriptures. This is what the Bible teaches and what I believe and trust, that’s how I was born again and know I have eternal life, the Spirit of God is living in me and bears witness to me that I’m His.

No, it's not what the Bible teaches..
It's what's you BELIEVE.
We are all affected by our environment.
i.e. the people around us

I don't believe what you believe..
However, I do believe that Jesus was born of the virgin Mary,
and in the Gospel. I do not believe that Jesus claimed to be God.

The Gospel of John is completely different from the other 3, and I don't accept the author's views at all.
It is sectarian.
