Anyways, I picked up DOOM. It's cool but I was pretty bored already after about an hour. Hopefully it picks up cause at this point I'm pretty bummed I spent the money.
I was going to rent, but I have a fairly hefty late fee at the rental store, and I figured it would probably be nice for awhile, but failing to live up to the original.

There aren't many jobs around here. There have been, so far, two case worker positions that I have been able to find, and a few that require a doctorates. Around here you also won't find many mental health clinics, but there are plenty of bars and an over abundance of churches everywhere - over abundant in that I have no idea where all these churches in the country are getting people to fill them, because even though I live out in the middle of farmland I still live within 9 or 10 chuches and there is so many along just one smaller stretch of high way the is just outside of peru, about a half mile stretch, there are so many churches you need more than one hand to count them. And then Peru itself, though not a small country town, is far from being anything resembling a big town, and it has at least 20 some bars. I even learned of a new bar one night a few years ago when I saw someone stumble out of the door drunk. But you'll need Peru and the nearby towns similar to it to need both hands to count the number of mental health facilities combined. It's one of the things I can't stand about living hear. Church, bars, and strip clubs, and drugs are about the only thing to do, except for the occasional local band show of someone who isn't more than a cover/tribute band. But the their is such a small demand for psychology and psychiatry that most of what there is happens in places that handle general therapy, drug addiction, and people who need extensive help in their lives.
And I have a strong suspicion that these abundance of churches, boos, and meth have a significant impact on why anything but "work" is hard to come by around here. And Chrysler (used to be Chrysler of Delco/Delphi) being the big aspiration to live up to probably also plays a huge role.

Damn that suck. Yeah I live in a big city and was able to land a parent aide position with my Bachelor's. Crazy enough everything I needed to be prepared for, like having a kid casually tell you they're being abused, sure can't be taught in school.

I got my loan for my business, which not only means income, it means I get an excuse to buy an e3 flasher for my PS3, and also to fix my XBox 360 and mod it. :D And once I get some money and have expanded my inventory a bit I plan on keep an XBox 1 for myself. I do wonder what's up with Sega consoles though, because I can find a good deal of pretty much every Nintendo system, and over abundance of pretty much every Sony and Microsoft consoles, but there are very few Sega consoles needing repaired to be found. Which comes as both a disappointment and a good consideration because I've not heard many people talk about the durability of the Sega consoles, and my Genesis does work today just as well as it did out of the box. It's definitely outlived all my Nintendo consoles, and several times longer than any Sony or Microsoft console I've had.
Another perk of this job is just how many games sometimes come with these consoles. Granted most of the games I wouldn't play, are a dime a dozen, but I can still use them as trade in for games I do want. And because I'm going back to school, I end up with this huge pile of games left unplayed or barely touched because of the time demands of school.

WTF? I am not joking. I typed in ps3 yellow light of death repair kit into Google, and Borden's 2% reduced fat milk is the sixth result under the shop tab.

I'm very upset that I paid full price for Doom, and I can't get over how lazy Dark Souls 3 is. This is a bad game year for me.

Damn. I imagine that has to be rough, yet rewarding to be able to change their situation.

Bought Doom for the PC. So far it's been pretty good, but nothing that's as pants pissingly mind blowing as it was hyped to be. It feels more like Halo in Hell than it does the original classics. It doesn't really do anything that hasn't already been done by others (like Killing Floor 2).

I just fished DOOM and actually ended up really enjoying it. I'll be hunting down Doom 3 to play that damned masterpiece, but the new one is better than I originally thought. Will play again. I just had to get over the Halo-ripoff, non horror nature of the game. I agree that there's pretty much nothing original to it, but it's a nice compilation of shooters especially since it's the only shooter I even have now.

I wasn't expecting much originality, since DOOM pretty much revolutionized gaming back in the day, and really I was just hoping for the original remade for today's generation of gaming (yay being able to look up and aim!!), but this Halo-rip off has me concerned, because as far as shooters go I've always thought Halo was way too easy, way too simple, and way too predictable, and not too mention a huge let down in gun inventory when you are coming off of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.

Anyone else get hooked on Overwatch during the open beta weekend? Normally I'm an open world RPG kinda person but Blizzard did a really great job creating a mix of MOBA and FPS imo.

I wish I could keep this gaming box I'm making, but instead of bundling one of my PS3 controllers and one of my spare HDMI cords with it to sell it. But I am so going to enjoy the crap out of it until I do sell it. I'll be able to play my PSP games on a screen bigger than my computer monitor! And eventually once I find some cheaper sources and materials for what I need, I'll be making clones of various retro controllers to use on the box (or computer) in order to use appropriate controllers for the games - this I do because I consider the only decent controller for playing Super Mario Brothers 3 or Punch-Out on is a NES controller, and Sega games as well need Sega controllers. I also plan on making NES-Advantage type controllers, and even though I wouldn't be able to actually sell it with any games on it, an arcade cabinet with some arcade style controls. I may even make it so I can easily swap between the ball for games like Centipede, steering wheel and foot peddles for racing games, and the regular set up for just about everything else.

I have decided to set out and achieve what I have never done: Knock out Mike Tyson/Mr. Dream.
And I've got a long ways to go because I've only knocked out up to Soda Popinski, and during my most recent playthrough I failed to knockout Glass Joe, Von Kaiser, and Piston Honda.

I may also try and beat Battletoads & Double Dragons again. It's so amazing how much harder games were back, how much more of a challenge they were, and how it felt like an actual achievement to beat them. I played the Star Wars games on Super Nintendo for the first time in a long time, games I used to be able to beat with no challenge, and now I suck at them.

I am actually playing Day of the Tentacle remastered, ESO and Dragon Age Origins when I have time to record the gameplay. Dragon Age Inquisition in my spare time still.

I have to program the controller I'm giving with the box thingy I'm making into the box thingy. I don't want to give it away because it's actually a pretty good emulation machine. My friend is wanting one for her son's birthday in a couple months though, and I decided when I take the money to make that, I'm not gonna charge her more than parts, and when I get the money back I'm going to order my own, and then work towards getting a USB controller of the different systems to get it as close to the original as I possible can.
