Hey RFians,

What are your plans for the weekend?

For me, my son is having a birthday party sleep-over. 8 stinky middle-school boys will be invading the house. Scary. well. hopefully they won't be too stinky.:D

I've come down with a horrible illness that isn't Covid but that sure does feel like it :(

So I'll probably be spending it in bed, being sure to take on lots of fluids

Weekends are dull when you're married to a restaurant worker, as the spouse most certainly have to work... My oldest son goes to his father's for the weekend, so that kind of puts a kabosh on going anywhere fun as well, save perhaps a park.

Saturdays consist of housework and homeschool. Sundays are better; my friend comes over, and we bake a cake from a different country. This week's cake will be from Cape Verde.

Sadness. I hope you feel better soon, Ed. Here's a virtual hug, no sharing of germs required.

Preparing PowerPoint slides to have my own course material when teaching math for AI/machine learning. It will be a long process, but I want to start this weekend.

Atmospheric River strikes!

It's raining like crazy here too. PDX.

Do the raccoons get affected by the rain? Are they less .. um ... assertive?

When it's raining a lot here, the challenge is getting the dog to go to the bathroom outside. We go out, and I have to beg her. I'm sure it's amusing to the neighbors.

It's raining cats and dogs there too? I thought it only rained like that here in Washington State.
My cats only get to look outside, they never get to go outside. There are too many raccoons out there.

I don't know where you live but even for here where rain is the usual, it never rains this much this early in the season, not that I can remember.

The raccoons don't seem to be bothered by the rain and it certainly does not affect their assertiveness.
They are out there on the deck right now playing in the puddles that are made when all the bird food falls from all the bird feeders..... I will feed them later but it is too early to feed them yet... Meanwhile, I have to hide from them because if they see me they will start knocking down the chairs on the deck or climbing up on the glass table and looking in the kitchen window to try to get my attention...

Have you ever seen a wet raccoon?

Given my experience with middle school boys, they may not start out stinky, but there is a better than average chance they end up that way. :)

As for me this weekend it is leaves, leaves, leaves. Lots of raking to do.
