I'm reading various short stories by Wilkie Collins, the greatest author of all time (IMO). :)

The stories are mostly great, but I'm noticing one big difference between his short stories and his novels: The short stories lack a strong female character that his novels tend to center around.

I'm reading two at the moment:

Requiem for a Dream by Hubert Selby Jr. as a pleasure read.

Moby-Dick by Herman Melville for school.

I am working through the books of Richard Paul Evans (author of The Christmas Box). He is a bit sentimental in his writing, but I find it enjoyable.
For my nonfiction selection I am reading Teachings on Love by Thich Nhat Hanh (pronounced tik Nawt Hawn). For those who don't know, he is a Vietnamese Buddhist Monk. A very wise man and although I am not a Buddhist, I see a lot of truths in his writings.

The Collected Writings of Thomas Paine.

I finished Common Sense, and I'm now most of the way through the Age of Reason.

On deck (assuming it comes back in at the library) is C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity.

The Collected Writings of Thomas Paine.
Hooray for you. Tom Paine's writings are fantastic.

I'm reading, some book I found in the hall. Darkest Fear By a guy called Coben. Also, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (after reading The Bookseller of Kabul I'm interested in all things Afghani) and Language, Truth and Logic by A.J. Ayer (again).

How are you finding it?

I'm enjoying it so far. So much of what he is frustrated with I am frustrated with too, so it's resonating.

Plus he has a very nice reading voice (Hitchens) and puts emphasis where he intends it to be (as the writer), which is great. I always like it when the author reads their own audiobook.

I plan to do a review when I'm finished.
