Resident Schizophrenic
Sherlock Holmes: The Hounds of Baskervilles
Great book. If you like Holmes, this is arguably one of the best

Buying Time Joe Halderman
Great science fiction author.

Time Ships Stephen Baxter
The sequel to the classic Time Machine by H. G. Wells

I am also re-reading The Stars My Destination (or Tiger! Tiger!) by Alfred Bester. Amazing book; it basically started its own sub category in Science Fiction.

Necronomicon: The Wanderings of Alhazred by Donald Tyson
Oh! I loved that one! The part where he puts the scorpion in his old lover's jewellry box is hillarious!

I am reading Pagan Christs, by John M. Robertson (online, its free)
and Road to Reality, by Roger Penrose---awesome book detailing the entire history of theoretical science, from Pythagoras to String Theory (and makes you undertand it all)

...but as of late am cramming on the NEC, National Electricians' Codebook, since I have to take an exam to get my Journeymans' Licence.

The Giver by Lois Lowry (recommended by a friend)

In a world with no poverty, no crime, no sickness and no unemployment, and where every family is happy, 12-year-old Jonas is chosen to be the community's Receiver of Memories. Under the tutelage of the Elders and an old man known as the Giver, he discovers the disturbing truth about his utopian world and struggles against the weight of its hypocrisy. With echoes of Brave New World, in this 1994 Newbery Medal winner, Lowry examines the idea that people might freely choose to give up their humanity in order to create a more stable society. Gradually Jonas learns just how costly this ordered and pain-free society can be, and boldly decides he cannot pay the price.

Highly Recommend The Giver!!!

Superman vs. Hollywood: How Fiendish Producers, Devious Directors, and Warring Writers Grounded an American Icon

Author: Jake Rossen

Paperback: 352 pages
ISBN-13: 978-1556527319

Tinseltown's fascination with the comic icon is detailed in this book, encompassing all the behind-the-scenes machinations that helped shape Superman into a screen legend—and all the derailed projects that have vilified everyone involved. These newly uncovered stories about the odyssey of bringing the Man of Steel to the big screen include the challenge of making Superman appear to fly, and the many casting processes, which at various points had Superman being played by the likes of Bruce Jenner, Robert Redford, Sylvester Stallone, Neil Diamond, Nicolas Cage, Justin Timberlake, Keanu Reeves, and even Muhammad Ali. Based on extensive interviews with producers, screenwriters, cast members, and crew, this exposéspills the beans on all the various TV shows, from the classic The Adventures of Superman to the current hit Smallville; the various animated efforts on both the large and small screens; and the movies—from 1979's smash hit Superman: The Movie to 2006’s wildly expensive Superman Returns. Also included are the stories about the Superman movies that never made it to the screen, helmed by maverick directors Kevin Smith and Tim Burton, and featuring expenditures on scripts and sets that are even more eye-popping than the films’ special effects.

I just started a book called Disordered Minds by a newly discovered author for me, Minette Walters. I do love a good suspense novel sometimes. :)

I just ordered Philosophies of India by Heinrich Zimmer and Joseph Campbell. I'm very much looking forward to it. I'll wait to start it if anyone wants to do a book club.

The documents and material in this book were first published in three parts over 2 years 1942-1944.
It was a series of talks to bring comfort and spiritualty to people over the war years.

I'm only on the 2nd chapter, but so far I'm enjoying reading this book.
