Ultimately?
No one has supplied a sufficient answer.
The most common reasons given:
1)Oil.
2)A conspiracy by the government.
3)Inherit Islamic hatred.
4)Israel. Why Israel? I don't know.
I think these four cover the majority of responses people give as to the what. Unfortunately, all four of these are naive, juvenile responses given because people like simple, pat answers.
Asking people to go back to the end of the first World War, the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire, British involvement in the Middle East, the rise of the Cold War with the U.S. and the Soviet Union manipulating the Middle Eastern governments, the oil discoveries, the rise of mullahs who espoused an oppressive interpretation of the Koran as well as xenophobia along with the superiority complexes of the Communist and Republican superpowers, etc., etc., etc.

Alot of people have different accounts of 9/11...Majoirty of all did see an airliner crash in the twin towers...yet another handful of people heard explosions in other buildings that sounded like bombs were going off. But how do you decifer something between circumstancial events, coincidence, or the real hardcore evidence of it all? especially when your confined by the medias accounts and how they're able to manipulate what you see on your television.

Because it accounts for the most yet retains simplicity.
The wreckage has been addressed already several times by the structural engineers who were at the site.
Here is a picture of some of the wreckage. Most was inside because (shockingly) a plane hit the building at 400 mph+ More than enough energy to blow through the walls of the pentagon.
Here is another of the entire event.
Notice where the lawn is. Notice where the gaping hole is. The low amount of damage done to the lawn is not surprising in the least.
I have heard dozens of other ones. I don't claim to have heard them all, but there are only so many core variants. They are either physically impossible or unsupported by any evidence.

Oh I seem to be back to the tin foil again.
(Some? of the wreckage? Find me one single picture with MORE wreckage. that's it.
no wings no tail no demolished lawn.... spindles undesturbed on the lawn...
actually I think there may have been a turbine of the wrong size "found" there as well.)
Then compare to pictures of "normal" crash sites where there's actually a plane to be found.
HUGE pieces... MAJOR CHUNKS of airplane that is. You know. Clear evidence of a Huge Airliner.
The wings certainly could not have entered into the building (evidenced by size and shape of hole)
so where are they to be found on that beautiful green lawn?
Even REPORTERS on the sceene said there was no sign of wreckage.
As well eye witnesses described something much more akin to a missile.
Something much smaller (and faster if I recal)
(that would have actually fit the hole in the building).
As well professional pilots having simulated the run say it would have been a near impossible stunt.
Yet it was pulled off by a wholly incompetant ameture "pilot". ok.

to illustrate all of the official story problems.
If you've already seen them,
and you see no major problems with the official story
then we agree to disagree. simple.

Just one response because I cannot resist.
Airplane crashes produce a lot of debris because of how the pilot lands the plane. The angle of impact is kept as close to zero as physically possible. You want the plane to skim the surface. You want to land alive, keeping the plane in one piece is not exactly a top priority. Never mind the damage done to the plane.
This was a crash specifically meant to maximize damage. As a result, the entire plane slammed into the building at a near 90 degree angle. No attempts to pull up, which causes debris to slide everywhere, just wham. No airframe can withstand a direct impact to a surface, they were never designed to do that. As a result, the airframe folded like a beer can meeting a redneck's forehead. The airframe is not designed to do that either, so it just crumbles. Then the resulting crushed airframe is lit on fire with a few hundred liters of jet fuel. We wouldn't be able to distinguish the wreckage with our eyes. We would just see a ton of charred metal.

How could this be a faith-based initiative?
The perpetrators killed Black and White, Asian and Hispanic, Jews, Christians, Muslims, Agnostics, Hindus and Buddhists. This was a crime against humanity.

Here [9/11] it is not just an incident of extremists attack. That is true but only on the surface.
Deep down it is about the oppersor and the oppresed on one hand and the karma on the other.
There are two classes of people in the Arab world. The rich and the poor. The rich exploit the poor in the name of religion and this is turned into a political game of the religious fundamentals to get even with the rich west.
The other is karma. If you know what is karma then you would accept what ever happens, happens for the good. Find solutions to problems, do not compound them more by creating war on Iraq etc.
