What Changes Does Obama Stand For?

What are the changes that Obama stands for?

Change from a cabal of borderline retarded religious crackpots with fantasies of world-domination and no grasp of economics or diplomacy to a cabal of rational intellectuals who are beholden to many of the same corporate interests, but have a sincere (if eternally unrealized) desire to act in the public interest.

I don't think she even comes close to implying that.

maybe not but i have seen a lot of politicians in my time and one thing i have learned is what they promise and what they are able to deliver are often very different things. and the more they promise the greater the dissapointment.
i prefer to keep my feet on the ground and my head out of the clouds when it comes to politicians and their promises.

and i wasnt really having a pop at you Alceste, just commenting on Obamafever

S'OK - Sunstone is right. I am not a fan of the Democrats, as you might be able to guess from the "beholden to the same corporate interests" bit, but at least they are not certifiably insane. A little ineffectual hand wringing over the plight of the masses is a damn sight better than outright contempt.

If it was up to me I'd go for Nader.

On a more positive note.

-An attempt at turning away from standard Washington politico games which I applaud. I think Washington is going to turn him rather than the other way around though.

-Respectability in the eyes of the nations which I applaud as long as we do not compromise our own values to gain approval.

-Government expansion which I am not a fan of.

OK, two out of three are positive. What do ya expect from me.

A changing of the guard.
To be honest, this is all I care about: getting the Republicans out of the White House.

There was a time I would've supported McCain, but I've been deeply disappointed in him since then.

Let's go racing boys !
He can tell us all the changes he stands for but seeing is believing.......Things can always get worse.....although I don't see how.

My view as I have stated before on all politicians

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common
They should both be changed regularly and for the same reason

I haven't figure it out yet.

One of the key areas of concern for me which determines who I vote for I do know Obama has shown nothing but more of the same. In fact, he seems almost exactly like Clinton before the '92 election. That didn't go so well either.

Objection your honor! No offense intended here but I call BS. BHO supported the Illiniose ban on the possession, manufacture and sale of hand guns. He still contends that it is OK for local governments to make their own rules on the 2nd amendment much like Chicago and Washington DC have done. I know, guns may seem evil to some and the 2nd amendment is not important but imagine this, if you will. Birmingham Alabama decides they have had enough with black people effecting their elections and their lives so they decide to suspend the 13th amendment. Sounds crazy I know, but this is exactly what BHO is suggesting when he also advocates the suspension of the second amendment at random.

Are you exaggerating here? Have CHicago and DC actually banned firearms, or did they implement restrictions?

You mean income redistribution? People who paid no taxes getting a refund? That is dishonest! How do you refund something that was not paid in the first place?
--respect for the Constitution
Not the second amendment
--ending the war in Iraq
That the Democrats voted for.
--respect for law, national and international
I am not a world citizen, I do not recognize any world authority. I don't remember electing them..........
--trying to find points of unity, instead of division
Income redistribution is socialism plain and simple. That is divisive to say the least.
--universal health care.
The jury is still out on that one.
